TLDR: Decent selection, but organization and cleanliness is poor. I haven't had a good experience with employees yet and lines were to the back of the store one visit. Only commercial hobby store in town so what're you goanna do, eh? I'm from a big city with multiple hobby stores/Michaels so I am not impressed on how this one is ran.
Quality of Service: My most recent experience was poor. I believe I was speaking with a manager when I asked if they price match an object. I didn't catch her name but she was in a red vest and seemed to stand apart from other employees. She asked me to wait while she helped another customer which I was more than obliged to do. I waited about 15 minutes before she was finished and came back to me. She clarified that they do not match clearance items but was open to me showing her the item I was talking about on Walmart. ( It was also reduced on Amazon but she said they don't match Amazon). She was frustrated that I was moving to fast on my phone and said she needed to confirm it was the exact item. Rebuffed by her sudden frustration I slowed down and asked what exactly she needed me to show her so I slowly scrolled the entire product page on both Michaels and Walmart. She asked if it was on clearance, I replied I don't think so but it is a reduced price on multiple sites so I didn't think it was a clearance item (but rather a manufacturer mark down). She wasn't very helpful, so I said It's fine if you don't want to price match, I'll just order it from one of the online stores. In turn she replied "Okay, sorry about that". I was there, ready to purchase this item and she did not even attempt to fight for my business. Michael's lost a sale that day and possible continued customer. (okay probably not since its the only hobby store in town but I'll defiantly be looking to Amazon more often).
My experience at the cash register was brief and the employee was courteous but no service to boast about.
Environment & Ambiance: The place is often disorganized with pieces of floral and glitter all over the ground. By the service door near the sewing and yarn isles (where I often go) there is ALWAYS U-boats and carts and products and who knows what else blocking isles and items. It is so very frustrating especially in a time that social distancing is important yet there is no room to move!! Only 80% of products are properly price marked and you'll find many seasonal items thrown out willy-nilly. But perhaps the chaos is only due to the holiday season - at the very least I certainly hope so.
Comment and Recommendation: I had a poor experience my first trip here with lines backing up to the back of the store and then again with my inquire for a price match. I walk the store increasingly becoming frustrated only to end with a not-so-great customer/employee interaction. I think I will try to look for a more locally owned hobby store before I go to Michael's again. So I don't highly...

Read moreThis place oozes misery and contempt. The weeknight employees do not like to be there and are not afraid to show it in their demeanor and the way that they speak with customers and the way that they treating customers as if they are messy unkempt shelves they also avoid. It seems that doing the bare minimum and by bare minimum I mean everything is out of place, dusty in boxes piled high, no employees to be seen, is status quo. There is a dangerously high stack of boxes holding who knows what in multiple aisles. Is the store packing up or unpacking? No one knows! You can't get around the aisles because there are 10' high piles of boxes and no one's doing anything about it.
Things that might not have been such a big deal if the customer service was a a lot better, and if the stock was what it should be.
I hate to suggest spending your money outside of Stafford, but AC Moore is gone so my best advice is go to the nearest Joanns or Hobby Lobby, or even order online from Deramores or Amazon BUT STAY AWAY...
