I went to Staples several days ago to have a photo made into a poster. I specified the size and asked some questions regarding the quality, cost, and when the poster would be ready. The associate (a woman) was abrupt with her responses and told me it would be ready the next day (as I requested). I said ok, thank you, and left. I came back the next day and when I saw the poster, it was blurry to the point that I could not use it. When I told her (same associate) that I did not want it and I was disappointed that she did not tell me ahead of time that it would be blurry, she had an attitude and just said, “You don’t have to pay for it.” She proceeded to fold the poster and that was it. I left. I called the manager on the phone and explained the situation. I told him that I believe the associate should have shown me what she had on her computer screen when she enlarged my photo. She should have asked me if I wanted that or if we could find a clearer image to work with, or ANYTHING but the poor attitude she demonstrated. She, in effect, wasted a full day of my time and she wasted Staples’ money! The manager told me he would look into the matter and get back to me. Later that same day I received a call from a different associate (a male) and he told me he and the manager found a clearer image of the same photo I wanted enlarged. They worked with it and made me a poster. If I wanted to come in, they would be happy to show me, and if I wanted the poster, it would be no charge. The poster is now framed and hanging in my home! I asked the woman at customer service if the store still laminates luggage tags and with her back turned to me she mumbled and pointed..”check with printing”. I asked her to repeat herself and without turning around she pointed again and mumbled “printing”. Maybe she was having a bad day, but I think management should be able to identify this issue and take steps to address her attitude issue. The printing process was friendly and quick to produce a number of luggage tags within an hour. She rudely said send it again instead of taking the time out to help me. The last time I asked her for help she began yelling. I asked for the manager. I have had many encounters with this associate. She is always rude to everyone who needs assistance. Well the manager came he was rude. He did not resolve the issue and said is that all like I need to get to the back and finish my nap. Really.
