We have been going to Element for the past 6 years regularly and have always considered the sushi at Element second to none. Yesterday we had lunch there- the restaurant seems to be in sharp decline. When the appetizer was served, we had to ask for utensils, as there were nione on the table. We had ordered 3 rolls and 6 individual peices for the platter (3 pieces as sushi, 3 peices as sashimi.) The platter served had the 3 rolls and 6 peices of sashimi when served. When we flagged down the server, we pointed out that we were missing the sushi peices, and that we had recieved only sashimi instead. The server apologized for the mistake and went to get our missing sushi peices. He returned to the table and embarrassingly said that management insisted that he take the sashimi peices that had been mistakenly served back. I peeled them off the platter with my chopsticks and a knife, and put them on a small bread & butter plate for him to take away. This was an embarrassing move on the management of Element's behalf. Disgusting. Were they going re-costruct and re-serve this raw fish to us after it had been handled by so many people? He returned a few minutes later with the corrected order of sushi peices. They looked like different peices of fish, completely differently shaped and different looking from what had been taken from my plate. It was a very cheap move on their behalf to insist that the server take back the raw fish from my plate. The sushi rice was crunchy and the fish did not taste fresh. Both my husband and I felt sick to our stomachs after the meal and for the next few hours. Overall experience- There were rips in the upholstery and the interiors need an update. The service is friendly and the bathrooms are clean. Honest opinion of the experience was a 4/10. We will...
Read moreOur family always goes to local restaurants and support all small businesses. My father always tips well over 20% regardless of service or quality of food (as my sisters and I have been servers since we were 16). With this being said, we are never complainers. We are happy, really, no matter what. We decided to go to Element for my moms birthday (a place we regularly attend). Our sever, Angelina, started out very nice and attentive. Until about half way through, my fiancé heard her talking to other staff, mimicking the way he was calling her “miss”. We all giggled about It until we realize she hasn’t been back to our table in over 30 minutes as we waited to order dessert for my mom’s birthday. I went over to the hostess stand where she was standing, and I said you haven’t been to our a table in a little while— she said someone else should have checked on us and I said no one has. (Again, we are servers and we understand what it’s like to get busy… but we watched her attend every table around us without even a quick apology or check up) She finally came to drop the check on the table and practically ran away. My sister asked to speak to a manager. The manager was amazing and understanding & we watched him tell her the situation. She came back over very abrasive and unapologetic when we explained that we really wanted to just order desserts for my moms birthday. She said “happy birthday to whoever’s birthday It even is” along with other snarky, rude comments. As we walked out, we overheard talking about us and the situation to other costumers at the bar. This is NO WAY to treat a costumer at a table and incredibly...
Read moreFirst time here and I have to say that this place was a huge disappointment. I will give them 1 star because the restaurant itself is nice and the bathrooms were clean. Also, the staff was decent. On a positive note, the bruschetta and guacamole as appetizers were very good, but that's where the positive experience ends for us. EVERY single entree we ordered was extremely salty and the chicken breasts for sure were not fresh, but the rubbery ones you get from the frozen section at the supermarket. We ordered the following dishes and like I said, some of them were inedible due to the extreme amount of salt. Some were replaced by other things and some were just left there because we didn't want to eat anything else from here. We got the drunken chicken parm with linguini, *The Vodoo chicken sandwich, the chicken spinach panini, eggplant capri meal, *seafood bisque, *mahi mahi tacos and the peruvian chicken sandwich that was on the "specials" menu. It is very concerning to me when I go to a restaurant that serves salty food as I know that some places use this to disguise the freshness of the meats. Of course, with so many other places to go to, we would never choose this place again, but we wanted to share our honest experience just as a warning to anyone else considering visiting this restaurant. saltiest...
