I am very displeased with my recent visit at Sterling Heights Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM dealership. I just recently moved back to Michigan and came in on the morning of April 20,2024 with hopes of leasing a 2024 Grand Cherokee Laredo demo as availability has been advertised in the paper for the last few weeks. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by Ralph Lutig who interrogated me with a series of questions about my current Jeep lease term before I could even get through the door and sit down.
When I finally sat down to discuss the vehicle of interest, I was met with his condescending attitude. Instead of trying to sell me a car, he was too invested in talking about how he didnât think it was ânecessaryâ to appraise my current leased vehicle until May 2024 (as if May isnât in two weeks) as dealerships will only buy out leases at least a year out before the lease term ends. He also spent a great amount of time insinuating that I could not afford the 2024 Grand Cherokee. In fact, he made statements like âObviously, the payments will be higher if you donât put down $3,000.â With a current Masterâs degree I can almost guarantee you that I know math and as a current LOYAL Jeep customer I am absolutely positive that I can afford another one. Not to mention, he did not ask me what color I was interested in, what trim level or anything of that nature. Instead, he printed out a window sticker and told me to read it.
I was also told that there were no current demo vehicles on the lot. When asked if there were any Grand Cherokeeâs on the lot at all, no matter the trim level, Lutig told me that there were but the price would be significantly higher than the demos. I told him that I was interested in test driving one. He asked for my license and I handed it over. He saw that I had a Maryland license and questioned me about why I didnât have a Michigan drivers license. While I owed him no explanation about my current or previous residence to test drive a car, I assured him that I just recently moved back to Michigan. He went ahead and pulled the vehicle up to the front of the dealership. I checked the interior and exterior of the vehicle and told him that I was ready to take the car for a drive. His response was that he was GOING to ride with me. He did not ask, he told me that he was going to ride with me because I had an out of state driverâs license. I expressed to him that out of the five dealerships that I visited last week, he was the only person that ever questioned my license. He then went on to tell me that legally he should have requested that I had proof of insurance on my current vehicle. I told him never mind, got in my vehicle and left the dealership without test driving the car.
Not only do I have insurance on my current vehicle and all the previous vehicles that Iâve possessed ( full coverage by the way) I have never been asked by a dealership to provide proof of insurance to test drive a car nor have I had a car salesman tell me that I can not test drive a vehicle alone. In addition, I have never experienced such an inappropriate encounter at a dealership in my life.
Again, I can guarantee you that as a current loyal Jeep customer that I wouldnât dare spend a dime with this salesman as his customer service was horrible. If this behavior is what Sterling Heights Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM dealership or the corporate company represents as a whole than Iâll take my businesses elsewhere. The interesting thing about my visit is that I knew from the moment that I spoke with this salesman that he had no interest in selling me that car by his disdainful attitude.
Im short, if you are looking for a salesman who insults your intelligence, has poor customer service and is discriminatory toward those who have an out of state driverâs license then Ralph Lutig is the person for you. Otherwise, take your business and...
Read moreI am extremely unsatisfied with my service experience. When I first arrived, I was treated like i knew what i was "supposed" to be doing. Whoever scheduled my appointment, scheduled it after the techs left, knowing it was for my check engine light, so i was thrown off guard when i was told i had to leave it there or reschedule. The company for a rental closes at 6, and i was told this at 5:45. So i felt like everything was a big rush and inconvenience. I was standing in front of the cashier waiting for her to acknowledge me while she played on her phone, and the gentleman in the back room had to tell her 3 times she had someone at the window. My rental and popcorn and wads of hair every where. Yes, i did let them know and they said they would talk with the detail staff. i received a phone call asking where my wheel lock keys were. Having been there for an oil change, (which they don't rotate your tires like the Chevy dealership does on your free oil change when leasing); i told them i didn't know, and the woman said they will keep looking. I never received a call back so i assumed they found them. I reported a "helicopter noise" when i dropped off the vehicle, which the first test drive they didn't hear anything. But then the second day they did, so they replaced my wheel bearings. On, pick up, i told them i wanted to talk with my sales rep and get pricing on some leases for someone in my household. They told me the keys would be with the cashier. After meeting with my sales rep. (45 minutes at least), i went back to the cashier to get my keys. No one had my keys and was acting like they never seen me before. Finally someone went out back and 'whipped' my vehicle around to the front. I got in with my son, and there was a bag of, what looked like big bolts to me, on my passenger seat. I assumed they were the lock keys they couldn't find, because I am not familiar with parts/vehicle service. I put the bag in my center console. About a mile down the road i had to call them back because my car was still making the noise. Now i know cars make noise, but the point of leasing a vehicle is to always feel like you are driving a safe and reliable vehicle. They told me to bring it back Monday after i get off work but never gave an appointment, so im assuming im going to show up there and be looked at like a crazy person. 2 days later (Sunday), i was leaving walgreens with my son and a gentleman stopped me before i could back out and asked me to roll down my window. He then asked me if i knew my tires were missing 'lug nuts'. all 4 of my tires didnt have the lock nuts put back on.... Looked over my receipt and at the bottom it says, "couldnt find customers wheel lock keys, had to use master set". Had that gentleman not told me, i could have went the remainder of my lease with lug nuts missing on my wheels. I couldve have been informed that the key wasnt found and given instruction on how to go about replacing them....
I will now be finding a different dealership to have my car serviced at, and i will be talking with their sales reps while i wait. And I'm debating if it will even be a Chrysler Dealership. Which is upsetting for me because my sales rep is the best rep i have ever...
Read moreThis is a true and honest review please take the time and read so you know to never step foot into this place. I got my new car in the end of June salesman will was great btw got me my car all in one day with the best pricing. But the dealership itself is a joke. My car windows stopped working I had too the car In for the first time and they had said it was the BCM. The part was back ordered and they didn't have an ETA on the part. So I took my car home. Then I decided to take the car back but the part wasn't In so I asked for a rental which I go but then the holiday was coming up I gave the rental back since my car is just gonna sit there without it being fixed bc the part isn't in. I called for an ETA no answer what so ever so I then started experiencing more issue with my car. Lights flickering automatic door sensor not working and drivers door not unlocking by key as well. So I had took my case further with FCA Chrysler to investigate the situation and gave me and eta on the part which was July 12. The part came in and the dealer never called me even the advisor that's on my case from fca and Chrysler was confused as well why the dealer is taking 10 years to call me, after a WEEK of the part sitting at the dealer they decided to have me set an appointment so I was speaking with the manager Jason. I told him all the issues and my car had scratches from the first time it got checked when it sat at the dealer. Scratches was from them as well. My car was there for about 3 days I took the car back and the windows finally worked the door was working normal as well but the scratch itself was so poorly fixed it looks like a poorly done buffing job. And the advisor also took a video of it as well bc he agreed with me too. Then all the sudden 2 days later of taking my car back boom, the door automatic unlock and unlock by key isn't working and the door is having the same issue it had before I got it fixed. Called and called no answer got a call from Jason and he had told me being the car any day to get it fixed. Came in the next week spoke with an advisor and they tell me you have to wait for when Jason calls you we don't know when we can get it fixed. Sorry but nobody is gonna wait on a joke dealer ship to get there new car fixed. Never ever I will step foot here and waste my time 3 months of hassle and garbage from these people. Manager also asked to delete my review but I'll never take this down because it's a TRUE story. Don't come here, cannot wait for this lease to end. Already schedule an appointment with another...
