Knights Inn Sterling Heights — Hotel in Sterling Heights

Boyfriend and I stayed here for about 2 months since we are in a rough patch. I appreciate the help of some of the staff that were able to work with us a little when we desperately needed it. However, the cleanliness was awful. Roaches everywhere. They started to get worse and worse over time. We seen at least 10 of them within one hour time span. HUGE ones. On the wall, tub, sink, headboard, ceiling, and also on the bed. We even bought our own spray and throughly cleaned everything often. No help. The toilet was broke, shower was dirty. The picture I’m our room had mold on it so bad that it even grew mold on the WALL. When maintenance came in, all they did was paint OVER THE MOLD on the wall and told us to put the picture back up. They called it a “paint chip”. The housekeeping was for the most part really rude to us. One morning they woke us up and told us we had to step out of our room so they can “check” but did not say what for. We told them the issues we were having and they claimed that is what they were checking for. Still, no help. We go up to the front desk one night to ask to exchange rooms. When we opened the door, there was IMMEDIATELY 3 roaches on the wall as we flicked the light on, bed bugs crawling around, bugs on the tv stand, bathroom floor, etc. We spent no more than 3 minutes in there at the most. We ended up checking out early due to the infestation and the woman rudely told my boyfriend “you know we don’t refund, right?” mind you, we never asked for one. I really wish it could’ve been different. EDIT: You’ve got to be kidding me, right? We paid for another week, and THEN the roaches started getting BAD. And since you don’t do refunds and we were homeless, what the hell did you expect us to do? Smh. Inconsiderate. Seems like the roach problem still hasn’t...

The gals up at the front desk are great- they try really hard to make things work for the guest and are so polite. Unfortunately they are dealing with rooms that smell or things don’t work or the room is just not cleaned well. My first room smelling like stale beer and the toilet did not work. The second room i stayed in was not very clean. The bathrooms doors and adjacent walls were filthy with dirty hands and smudge of whatever. The tub looked like someone had smoked and left cigarettes burning into the edge and looked as if it was not wiped properly. The wood laminate floors - that could be lovely looked like they were moped with a dirty mop and my socks that I never took off told that story to be true. The little couch had small stains along with the desk chair. I had my own cleaner and wiped the remote and the lamp next to the bed and also the tables I placed my property on - yucky. On the good side the sheets and towels were clean- this room smelled nice and the sink area was clean, also the property has a security guard, cameras, and the locks in the doors seemed all in good shape- safety was in good standing. The ice machine worked great, parking outside your room and again the 3 Ladies upfront desk were very nice, gracious and accommodating. So, you have to decide whether the price is worth it, I am staying somewhere...

Yesterday the maintenance guy walked in to hang a price increase. sign (over $100 more). He drilled it in the door. He came in when I was getting dress. I tried to use the room phone to complain to the office only to find out it didn't work. I used my cell. The months Ive been here no room service. I cleaned the room myself. The TV has 2 channels. It needs a password. I have seen roaches and bought roach spray. There is mold and holes in the plaster. I keep tripping on the floor where it needs to be fixed. Then they want $450 + taxes a week now.

I didn't know that guy was the maintenance until the office told me on the phone but that don't give him the right to barge in here. I heard him at the door and was trying to get dress and he then came inside quickly and shut the door. Freaked me out.

I usually pay very early morning every week but one time I paid during the day shift and was charged more. The young man pocketed my money. Why else was I charged more?

IT won't let me respond to the owner on what he said or a new review. So I'm putting it on this one. NOBODY came to my room and cleaned. Two times a week? Not even...
