I consider myself an avid woodworker/DIYer type who values the benefits of precision tools. Woodcraft offers a very large selection of medium to high end tools. While it shares similarities to Rockler, I think their focus is on providing the widest selection of higher end tools from around the world. IMHO, while Rockler has many great tools too (lower to high end tools), more often they push their own branded goods, which can be a hit or miss in terms of quality. While shopping at Woodcraft and seeking advice I feel that I'm getting useful feedback; While at Rockler I can get good advice as well, however too often I feel the impact of their corporate mission's mantra, that is to constantly upsell some gimmicky end cap item(s). Woodcraft rarely offers incentive sales while it's routine at Rockler. Honestly, both are great places, but Woodcraft certainly wins this race for the type of tools and brass...

It seemed to me that the sales associates are standing around talking shop with other wood workers. Went there again today (It was anIt was a Friday morning that I had for vacation) and two employees both talking shop with two other people. No oneās buying anything. The one sales associate is leaning against the counter with his arms crossed. The other is talking with someone in the back. it looks like theyāre just talking shop. In the meantime, I canāt build my shop. Called Festool and they recommended another vendor in Birmingham...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just found this store close to my home. When I first entered, I felt like a kid in a candy store with only pennies in my pocket. The prices are what you expect to pay anywhere else which was surprising in a specialty store like this. I liked that the employees were honest about not having hands on knowledge of the particular scroll saw I was after instead of trying to either sell me something else or claim knowledge they didn't have. I did have a negative customer service issue yesterday but hopefully it was an isolated incident. I would have rated 5 stars if it were not for that. I'll update this if...
