I've been to several places like this. Wartorn Front, Playlive, The Launchpad, etc. This store does not have a large selection, but they're very organized. They carry Magic the Gathering, Yu-gi-oh, and Warhammer 40K, as well as some other games I'd never heard of before like Vanguard and Star Wars X-Wings. They also have board games, card games, and even a few tabletop games. There's about 5 or 6 tables set up to play games on. When we came in, there was Michael (the counter guy) and a few other people. Everyone inside was friendly and Michael was knowledgable and he didn't try to encourage me to keep spending money like counter people at some other stores. He did encourage us to take pens and business cards and spread the cards around at our MTG club. If you're looking for tokens and land cards for your deck, they have separate boxes for those. They even had cards from as far back as the first sets as Magic the Gathering! All in all, this is a very nice store in a nice looking location, and I can't wait to come back again. Also there's mongolian barbeque about a block...
Read moreTo start I am from Elk Grove and we have lots of wonderful card shops nearby that sells their packs at MSRP. That said, I came to Stockton a few weeks back to play Magic with friends and decided to head over to the local card shop (the other was closed I believe its called Grapevine). The store seems ok at first glance, however going over to the counter and seeing the owner hogging cards, packs, and other bundles was already suspicious enough. I simply ask how much was one of their decks and it was $20 over my card shop price. So, again I asked how much was the booster packs and it was $5 overpriced that's when I walked out. I decided to head over to the local Target to get food for game night and to my surprise the same deck and booster pack was MSRP compared to this card shop. Do not support price hikes like the professor from Tolarian Community College states. It supports horrible habits for...
Read moreWent in there to buys some Pokemon cards, and was willing to spend Atleast 100$ or more, but they wouldn’t let me pick out my own packs! Every trading card store will let you pick out packs. These guys are either judgmental or just lame. Welp safe to say they will never have my business, I suggest going to PokeTable, or Sparks for any business you want to do to buy some cards, the owners are super cool there! But as for the dragons den, don’t waist your time or money...
