Its always good until its bad. Should be first come first served at the fish counter - PERIOD. Let me preface by saying this was not the first time they have done this to me its just that today I was not going to take it anymore - so I spoke up. I showed up at the fish counter - of all issues over fish (unbelievable)! There were 3 people there ahead of me and I waited until they were served. I was the fourth. Then 5 more people showed up on the other side of where I was standing and those people were served first. I then waved down the men and told them I have been waiting here for a while to be served my turn. One of the old men shook his head and said "just wait!" Are you kidding me? I have things to do! I had already waited my turn and even more! So I waited again. That same old man finished off the customer, walks over to my direction and serves another customer right in front of me even though I already told him I was there first! Are you kidding me! Like I don't have anything else to do with my life except to wait there for them! Wasting my time.
Whenever I go somewhere that runs off of a first come first served basis rule, I ALWAYS am considerate of who is there first because customers deserve to be served based on who arrives first, second, etc... Its common decency to do so and other customers should follow that as well. I ended up getting into it with another customer because he and his wife were not paying attention and didnt concede when the old man served them before me even though I arrived first. Its an honest mistake I agree. But the wife started shouting "He [reffering to me] should have said something, he should have been louder!" I definitely did say something but she wasnt there when I spoke up - she went off somewhere to get something. The husband was there though and he heard me but didnt say anything. The husband started talking Smack and cursing "this Motherf@cker is saying we crowded him!" Guess what you did! And if you were paying attention you would have known that. How indecent, discurtious and oblivious! And you were approaching me as if you wanted to get violent, saw you start to flex on me - over fish mind you. You stopped yourself but I saw that look on your masked face.
These are the kind of interactions that happen when a system is not in place to take care of the customers. A simple ticket system would solve this. I told this to the manager over the phone. He agreed and apologized. Doesn't make up for the other times they wasted my time and today someone wanted to get physical with me for speaking up. I bought from this establishment for years. However, at least for now, I will take my business elsewhere.
Yes they have a good selection. Yes the aisles are clean. But the customer service needs improvement - another customer flexed on me and wanted to get physical because of their poor service. Was I supposed to allow them to waste my time after the umpteenth time even after speaking up?...
Read moreI usually have no issues with this store, but there is one young employee at the fish market counter (name sounded like âjermy,â or something , starts with âJâ wearing a black mask, black hat, possibly Filipino) who is consistently lazy and provides poor customer service.
Unlike other employees who properly clean the fishâremoving the scales and preparing it the right wayâthis person simply cuts the fins, removes the insides, gives it back, and tells customers to âdo it at home.â When I questioned him, he refused to do it properly. If a customer buys two different fish, he will only take one and then leave the rest for other employees.
Whatâs more concerning is that Iâve seen him cut, rinse, and put fish straight into the air fryer without removing the scales, which could cause food safety issues. If fish is not cleaned properly, people could get sick.
I tried to find a manager at the time but couldnât, and I was too busy to stay. Still, I think this needs attention. Customers come here to buy fresh food, not to deal with rude and careless service.
â ïž Watch out if this guy is the one cleaning your fishâmake sure itâs done properly.
Next time I see him being rude or careless with customers, I will post the picture and Video I took.
The store overall is good, but this particular employee is giving a very negative impression and could cause health and customer service problems if...
Read more7 minutes ago NEW Cheaters! The cashier over charged me for 20 bundles of Cilantro when I only purchased 2! They also charged me $9.99 for Silkie Chicken. I only noticed this after I arrived home. Had to come back and they refund my money and said we are sorry the scanner picked the wrong code! This is an excuse. Just imagine how many more customers get cheated like this? I will extremely careful if I do go back to this store. Wonât be my first choice going forward. I would give them a 1 rating and donât recommend them at all.
Update on these cheaters! 3/25/25 I bought some fish from them and the weight they displayed was 4.69lbs. Just for curiosity and I did not feel that the bag was that heavy, I crossed checked the weight on another scale. The weight came back at 3.51 lbs! The difference of 1.18 lbs. doesnât seem too much but the fish I was buying was $6.99 per pound so this added up to be $8.24. When I approached the team members, they pretended they didnât speak English and said it was wrong code. The code has nothing to do with the weight! I am not sure how many people get cheated like this. Unfortunately, we donât have too many stores around the town that carry this type of food otherwise I would never go back. Just keep an eye out for these unethical practices when...
