I have done my shopping at ALDI since I moved here last year. The prices are great, but the customer service not so much. I usually donāt take it personally, but today I did. First of all, there was no one on the floor to answer questions of where things are. I caught one of the employees as she was coming out of the back. I greeted her and she just looked at me with a silly look on her face. I then asked her where I could find ricotta cheese. She just pointed in the direction, but I still didnāt see it. Then another employee walked up and tried to assist. Both were aggressive in trying to āhelpā but I ignored it and finally found it. I finished my shopping and went to the check out, where the same lady that āhelpedā me find the ricotta cheese was. I waited in line for a few seconds and then I saw something in the isle near the register that caught my eye. I left my cart in the line, ran over and checked it out, and ran back to the line with my cart. When I got back in line, the lady said, āUmm maāam Iām actually closed.ā Which irritated me because I walked up to the line right after the lady in front of me. Now all of a sudden she was closed. I didnāt argue with her, I just went to the next line. When I got there, the lady who just told me her line was closed told the person behind me she could help them. So, I guess she just didnāt want to help me. The young lady who checked me out was not any better. She didnāt greet me. She didnāt ask me if I found everything okay. When the transaction was over, all she said was āhere ya go!ā
I said all of that to say that good prices donāt make up for poor customer service. I work in customer service as well, which is why Iām speaking up about this. Iām not sure if I caught these ladies when they were supposed to go on a break, or if they were tired and ready to go. But that should not matter!!!! They were on the clock! You donāt know what mindset people come in the store with, just like we donāt know what your mindset is. But when you work in customer service, you set that aside and tend to the needs of the customer... with a smile! Iām highly disappointed in the poor customer service I received this evening, and the times before! You donāt treat people like that. ESPECIALLY when theyāre coming to spend money...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI always go to this ALDIs to grocery shop and always have a positive experience. This last time I went, makes me never want to come back! I had forgotten a quarter therefore had no cart to walk around with so just decided that I would use a box. I am already upset with myself forgetting that, and not being able to get everything I needed this trip as I could only buy stuff I could hold. I decide to run to self checkout as I have all of my items and see self checkout is down and there is only 1 lane open. So while Iām standing in line, the kind couple in front of me let me go before them as it is very clear Iām struggling. I put my food onto the conveyor belt and the cashier told me (didnāt ask or use manners) just told me to take everything out of my box. I take everything out and she throws it in the cart and as Iām about to take the cart, she tells me āyou canāt take that, you didnāt have a cart to begin withā so while I was scrambling to get all of my items out and REorganize everything, she starts scanning the next persons items and throwing their items on top of my food. I was embarrassed, rushed, and very upset with how that woman made me feel. I donāt think it was just towards me because when I moved up next in line, she started telling me how bad the man in front of me smelled (I didnāt smell anything and felt it very out of pocket and disrespectful). Iāve worked in customer service for several years and know the standards and usually am very flexible when I experience these things. But the way she made me feel and how poorly she was talking about the man in front of me truly showed her real colors! ALDIs if youāre reading this, I was at the register farthest from the door and it was around...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointing Iāve shopped here a number of times for myself and Instacart orders and after the experience today I will not be returning to this Aldi. One of the employees almost ran me over with a pallet because I was in an isle looking at something and when I said sorry she ignored me and ripped the plastic off the pallet and then when I left her and another associate were talking and heard them say ācanāt they see the isles blocked offā when in fact it was not it just had her cardboard thrown all over the place without a care in the world. Then when I went to the self checkout they had NO bags and got an attitude when I asked if they some in the back. I had went to get some boxes and as I was getting too an associate said you canāt use those ones and proceeded to rip the box out of my cart and then proceeded to get in my way as I was trying to get to the register. Another customer had asked for bags and this same associate said no we donāt have any just do what theyāre doing and get a box or just carry the items out even though he explained that it wasnāt for him and she just scoffed and walked away all mad. I would never recommend going to the stow/kent aldis every again they have the rudest...
