I know they just opened so I will be kind. We were seated quickly and had read the menu ahead so knew what we wanted so we ordered right away. Seated at a small 2 seater with one chair faxing west setting sun. Definitely need to invest in blinds as it was brutal. We ordered the sampler app. Chips are made onsite. Nice and flavorful, held up well. Cheese dip average and the guac and salsa very tasty. I ordered the posole Verde. I was really looking forward to this dish. To say the disappointment was huge is mild. Not a single hint of hominy. The over all flavor was one of " accidently spilled the banana pepper jar into the pot.". I sadly did not finish this 16 dollar bowl of pickle juice. I also ordered the rojo tamal. Overall the red sauce and pork were very good. The masa was just right and not too much and was moist. The overall ambiance of the dish was spoiled by the dash banana pepper induced Verde infused crema on top. ( I am from New Mexico so I can judge the use of red/green mixture with authority 😅 ) Also pictured is the bulldog burrito which was pretty good but overpowered by the nearly uncooked green peppers inside. Likely to return just to try other dishes and see how things go but not soon.

I came to this establishment with 3 friends a couple weeks ago on a Wednesday evening, place was dead with only 2 other tables at 6:00 pm, the service was super slow for the amount of tables they had and people they had working at the time. The food was just ok, rice was bland, the shrimp for our appetizer was little burnt, over all not so good. I live in Stow and work in Copley, my friends and I love to go to Tres Potrillos in Copley, we are there practically every week. This restaurant seems to be owned by the same group, most of the items we ordered were the same as our usual's in the Copley location just with a different name, unfortunately the flavor was not even close, I was excited for this place to be opened because its super close to home and I want to drink more margaritas! I also wanted other options besides the El camp, whoever is operating this restaurant should go to the kitchen and test what they are serving. Just try some, I have high hopes for this restaurant, they just really need to step up their game! Hopefully whoever tries it next will have a better experience than ours...good luck!

I have been here twice. We went on opening day, so I can't put this against them. However, it was a pretty bad experience. The wait for a table was lengthy so we ended up squeezing into seats at the bar. The reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the margaritas were really good, but that's where it ended for me. They eventually stopped seating people because the kitchen was so far behind. We waited 2 hours and never received food. We ate chips and salsa while we waited and they were pretty good. The drinks were expensive for it being dispensed through a mixer. On to tonight.. We ordered takeout. I got the barbacoa street tacos and they were terrible. It was literally a tortilla with dry, unseasoned pot roast. Chipotle's barbacoa is better. It also came with watered down lettuce and a very small end cap of a tomato. I got a side of cilantro lime rice with old cilantro and no lime. Would not pay $14 for that again. I'm overall disappointed in the restaurant but hope it gets better. I would honestly just go back for the margaritas and to try the guacamole. Would not recommend the food at all.

Absolutely loved my server. She was a delight and after she found out I was Mexican, she switched to Spanish for me which was very nice and welcoming.

When it came to the drinks, those were great. I had two different margaritas and loved them both. The first was the 3 berry margarita and the second was the guava margarita, both over ice. I would recommend those.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy the food. It was severely under seasoned and the meat was dry. The dish I got was the Enchiladas Mixtas, it was 4 different enchiladas; refried beans, chicken, cheese, and ground beef. The beans had no seasoning and were very plain. The chicken was dry and flavor was mild at best; seasoned but did not taste Mexican. The cheese was alright, no real complaints there. And the ground beef enchilada filling was also very dry and under seasoned. Couldn’t taste cumin or garlic or any other common Mexican flavors. The filling in the enchiladas and the red sauce used for them all tasted very store bought and I think the best way to describe the entree was very “white people made this meal.” I came with my family so I only ate half for their sake but it did not taste authentic in the slightest.

I tried a bite of the tacos my wife got and they were better than the enchiladas for sure, sadly their cilantro lime white rice was rather flavorless too; couldn’t taste the lime and the rice was not salted. For some reason the salsa verde had a pickle-y taste as well so I can only assume that pickled jalapeños were used to make the salsa verde which is… odd. It wasn’t bad, just strange and unheard of to say the least. I’m wishing I ordered the two taco meal only because it was less food than the enchiladas. The chips that came with salsa were also stale, however the salsa was fine overall but definitely could’ve been spicier.

The music that was played was very loud as well and my family had to either lean in to each other to hear each speak or nearly yell across the table to hear what someone said. We were told it was the anniversary of the restaurant or something of the sort which is why the music was so loud and the music wasn’t able to be turned down either. If that was the case for the loudness, I can’t really fault anyone aside from the owner or manager because they would’ve been the only one that could’ve lowered the volume. And even then, I really hope the music isn’t like that all the time and that it was just for celebrating reasons.

I’m only here vacationing fortunately but the next time I visit, I do not want to come back to the restaurant. Their saving grace was the alcohol. The food wasn’t worth it at all and if the atmosphere is always that loud then it’s...

We tried Casa Nueva last week. I recognize they are new and still very much getting their routines together and issues ironed out, so I’ll preface my feedback by saying we will definitely give them another go in six months when they’ve settled in.

For us, the pros were the atmosphere/decor and the menu variety. Our server was expeditious, although not particularly warm. As a picky eater, I loved the ability to make my own bowl with the toppings and protein of my choosing. The plating was great and made me excited for my food.

The areas that, if improved upon, would cause me to return, include a few things. Our “20 minute” wait was satisfied….45 minutes later. I think this is due to the newness of the staff, but accurately predicting a wait time is important. I can be patient, that’s not the problem, the concern was that we had no idea what was going on and honestly got hangry without an update. They missed an opportunity for a customer to order a drink, etc. by misquoting our wait time. When we were seated, it was very difficult to breathe. Their ventilation system is in desperate need of repair or improvement. It was so smoky, it was gross and difficult to enjoy a meal. We just wanted to get out of there as soon as we finally got a table.

While I think our culture as a whole needs to stop expecting free stuff from [small] businesses, the lack of clarity over the need to purchase chips/salsa was frustrating…they should list it as an appetizer on the menu (not the salsa flight or queso, those are obviously extra but there was no plain-old listing for chips/salsa, leading a customer to think it would be complimentary).

Lastly, our food was fine, but nothing exceptional and overall a little bland. The rice seemed like a boxed option and I found myself salting my meal. I’d have no complaints over the food quality if I felt I was paying for average Mexican. The pricing and menu descriptions promise a higher level of cooking that we didn’t feel was delivered.

All that to be said, we’ll give it another try as it would be great to have a decent Mexican place in Stow, but they have some considerable room for improvement in...
