The 4 star is up to you the reader . Due diligence ! It would seem to me that most every Mexican style restaurant here in North East Ohio, north is all I know about Ohio , have the same style prep for their dishes. Thus resulting in the same basic food experience between them. I am not sure if one family owns them, and if each has it's different offshoots, but the food is extremely similar throughout. That could be said about Chinese , but each tend to have some of their own styles, and of course the much less shared similarity's of the Italian and pizza shops. So for here, you getting the best bang for your buck matters here more so then the others, for the other ethnics are about points of taste. The best thing you can do is compare and see who has deals for your area. Here's a couple ways how. One is (Town Money Saver) printable coupons .A Shop locally Save locally online site .I haven't used it yet so. You can do this by searching El Campesino Stow Ohio Coupon. FourSquare will popup on your Google search along with Groupon . Funny thing about some of those is that you can do better by searching (Daily Specials) deals. El Meson of Portage Trail has a very good Daily Special Lunch&Super deals. Monday has Vallarata Special for $9.99 and Chimichunga Sunday's as others all during the week .Another way too find your best bang for your buck is by seeing what others have ordered before you do. Look around while waiting for your drink , then ask your server what you saw as being good , or ask your server yourself. El Campesimo has a Super Burrito for $11.25 and a Deluxe Burrito for $10.25 . If you saw and compared the two on someones table , you would know that the Super Burrito is the better deal for $1 more. Now when you search for El Campesino , you get a crappy website link . My suggestion would be to the owners . for El Campesimo to go AWS or Shopify or GoDaddy and design their own . You can call them though. Another similar Mexican restaurant is El Rancho . I only had one experience with them, I got the egg and burger, and it wasn't that good. It would be unfair to judge them on this one experience . An egg&burger is nothing new to me. It was a common truck stop sandwich that I used to have back in NY. Some of these places really knew how to cook one. That said though, I was charged $4 for very small dish for what amounted to be cheese whiz in my opinion at El Rancho . I have to learn that I can't compare food from back then to food here now. I used to go to a Mexican shop that hand made every single element on their menu daily back in NY . Yup, even those tortillas were hand rolled right there . This was also for a place that made their spaghetti daily. I mean that actual spaghetti , tortellini etc. I worked there and I cut wood for the smoker to roast roma tomatoes for their fresh daily pizzas . So, back to my beginning point , due diligence is your meter to measure what you'll get here at these North East Ohio Mexican Restaurants. Oh, for El Campesimo managers , if your not busy and there's tables to be cleaned , and servers are standing around , have them clean them . My server was exceptional though. Gave him a nice tip because of it. Good kid. So , look local and save local. Don't forget to find a favorite farmer and visit them when the crops are ready. Sometime soon I will be reviewing Duma's Meats of Randolph Road . Till then best...
Read moreI never give ratings to put a business down but I give ratings to make a restaurant better, acknowledge them for a job well done, and/or to warn others before trying something different. With saying that, I have been to several Mexican restaurants or several restaurants I should say and never went to the restroom to come and see my table cleared off before even getting my food. I even worked in a restaurant once and knew that if I saw drinks and chips and salsa without a meal that the person didn’t even get served their meal yet. How did they figure we left when we were in the restroom for a few minutes is beyond me. I was sick and not feeling well so I asked the server to just give me a to go box but she said the food was already prepared. I told her to still just give me the plate, a to go box and something to use to put it in since they had took our silverware. She brought everything with the check and when I looked at the plate I noticed that my order didn’t look right. I ordered the fried burrito but it came and it looked like a taquito. It even made me forget my order so I told her I had 3 taquitos missing. She corrected me and stated that I had the fried burrito which was correct. However, in front of me clearly was a fried taco stuffed with shredded beef. Taco shells and burrito shells are completely different in size and I know this from experience and also making my own. I chose to let it go because I didn’t feel good. When I went to go check out and they asked how my meal was, I explained the situation. A manager or so what acted like a manager overheard what I said and asked me to tell him what I told the lady who rang me out. I explained everything to him and his response was, “wow, I am sorry they should have taken care of you then and gave you what you asked for. Have a good day!” Wth does that even mean? I just left and took the loss because it wasn’t worth arguing over. To be clear, I ordered the, “special fried burrito.” Look at my picture and look at their menu and tell me if this is what I ordered? Number one it said that the burrito was topped with all these extra things on them and I could be blind but I see some things on the side but nothing on top. Also, never tasted the nacho cheese. The experience was truly poor for me. I sadly didn’t have the experience of some other’s and I don’t know if colored played a factor or if I was just the unlucky one that day. Regardless, I will...
Read moreWow!!! I can't believe this $5 for a pop yes $5 that is absolutely insane. I won't be going back. How many families can exactly afford $5 for a Pepsi or Mountain Dew or whatever. If you have a family of $5 that's $25 bucks just for the drinks. You should be ashamed of yourself for charging that kind of money for drinks. Unbelievable. The food was good but the prices for the drinks I just can't get past that. You need stop ripping people off. So when you go there to eat and they say the chips and the salsa are free. NO it's not oh heck no it's not you're going to pay for it in what you drink. Nothing in life is free. So they're charging you for the chips and the salsa that they say is free. Not free. So before you go in there and Order and you have a family of five or more check out the drinks before you order. If you do you'll leave and go somewhere else. That's what I should've done. Like I said I just can't get past how expensive and how a restaurant like that can charge $5 bucks for a small yes a small Pepsi. Again unbelievable. Like I said go somewhere else. There's a lot of Mexican restaurants around. I know I keep rambling on about the prices of the drinks at this restaurant. I just can't believe they get away with highway robbery. 😁😁 So sad nowadays A lot of people just can't pay $5 bucks for a small drink. Again...
