I was at Goodwill today, 6/4/23, at about 5 pm. I went in for a blanket for a cat tent to go on a camping vacation out of state. But I also found (2) camouflage bucket seat covers for a truck. I left them in changing room, while I went to car where cellphone was charging, to call husband's brother who lives where we are going, to ask IF he had bucket seats, as it is his birthday while we are down there. So, this was important to me. When I returned, noticing they were both no longer there, and not returned back to the rack, I asked both a male and a female, that were working when I was just there, where they were moved to? Neither knew, acted like they didn't even recognize me. Each said the other one had put back the stuff in changing room 1. The woman that rang me out for the cat blanket 30 minutes before, went in back room and came back with a large camouflage back seat cover, saying this was all that was in the changing room. She said there are no seat covers back there, maybe someone bought them? So I looked all around the store to see if they had been put back on a different rack other than the blanket rack I found them on? And I didn't see any of the 5 items. So I asked her you expect me to believe that in less than 30 minutes, someone bought all 3 different colored blankets and 2 camouflage seat covers out of that first changing room? I stepped into the back donation area and asked a younger girl and a younger guy. They both said they hadn't seen anything camouflage in some time. Just then a taller more mature man came out of the back room holding the "mysteriously missing never before seen" camouflage seat covers I intended to buy. His name was (Jack the Store Manager), and I extremely appreciated the effort that he made to locate these 2 items. I am a retired Sales Manager of 36 years. Never know who is shopping in your store. Thank you, Jack for your customer...
Read moreWent this evening to donate quite a bit of stuff. I had a lot of stuff in the tubs that run $8 to $10 each. I've done that because it's never been an issue. I arrive and tell them I have tubs to dump into one of their larger containers. They inform me they cannot do that and that everything must stay in the tubs. I even asked if they could wheel a big tub to the door and I would dump them in. Nope they were persistent on keeping the tubs. I explained to them I wasn't donating the tubs, just the contents, they refused to take the clothing unless I was giving them the tubs. So I went to giant eagle and purchased garbage bags. I returned mind you in snow and rain and bagged all the contents into trash bags. I start getting out the bags and what does the same employee do? Wheels over his big tub on wheels and as I hand him the bags he dumps them into the same big tub. There was no reason for him to request me to to so when he just did the same thing I was asking before I went and put everything into trash bags. I think they keep the tubs and sell them as well. Most people don't realize this. We are already donating goods and on top of that I wasn't giving you over $80 worth of tubs!
Edit after owners response. A complete and utter lie. If that was true then why didn't they just allow me to dump my tubs into the container. They wanted to keep the tubs which I wasn't donating. Again another way for them to make more money off of someone who was donating goods already at no profit for...
Read moreI've never had such bad treatment as the one I just had today. I came to the store in Streetsboro to donate 4 large bags of clothes. When I got there I put the bags down and waited for a person. When the lady came down I greeted her with a very nice hello. She didn't acknowledge and proceeded to bark at me that I was not supposed to leave the bags there (Which I was not planning to do). I asked her where would she want me to put them? She just rudely pointed to a bin outside and told me just put them there using a very rude tone. I then asked do you want me to just dump the clothes? She then acted even more angry and just said "Put the bags in there.". I did as told and it took everything I had to not causer a scene. Then as she wrote the donation slip, she pounded on the table angrily and gave me the ticket. I then said thank you and she just walked away.. I am very sorry I incovenienced this person by showing up to donate. I know one thing I WILL NEVER donate to Goodwill again, and I will post this on FB and all social media, so people know the type of person that works at your stores. I guess I will go to the Salvation Army from now...
