Kohl's used to be Great, but their current marketing plan has made it TERRIBLE for their customers. First, none of their percent-off offers (15%,20%, 30%) apply to the all the Brand Name products.
Second, when there is a sale for the Brand Name products, most of the time they market it in a way that forces you to buy TWO of the product for any savings. That only works out good for the customer if you happen to need a 2nd item or have the money for it AND if they actually have the 2nd item in stock!
An example of this: I went in to the store to buy a Levi's brand Jean's with my wife to replace one she ripped. The regular price was $69.50 for one. There was a sale that was "Buy the 1st at regular/full price, get the 2nd for 1/2 off". That would have been great IF they actually had TWO in stock in her size! Buying only one gets you NO discount!!
The outcome was that we bought NOTHING in Kohl's, and we got the same Jeans from Amazon for $40 for a single pair!
Kohl's needs to have their marketing team wake up to the reality of the Internet, or they will wind up closing like Kmart and Sears did The majority of people are not going to wait for items they want to go on a proper sale when there are much better...
Read moreI was in Kohl's in Stroudsburg, PA the other day, exchanging a pair of mens shoes we had purchased for my son. While he was trying on shoes, I noticed that NONE of the boxes of shoes had prices on them. There were no prices on the shelves, either, and no digital price above them. I asked a store associate to tell me the price of the shoes we picked out and she scanned them and told me. When I mentioned the fact that there are no prices on the shoes, she remarked "They stopped doing that a while ago. And they removed the store self scanners". I was floored that a retail store would make the decision to remove prices from items. I mean, what sense does that make??? Ridiculous. I'm sure this was the brain child of some corporate flunky with a master's degree. Well, I don't have the luxury of shopping with the idea that price doesn't matter. Good riddance to Kohl's. They will be the next...
Read moreI went there with my daughter to buy a valentine's gift in the jewelry department. I got the young lady's attention that was behind the counter and showed her a picture of a sterling silver chain that were looking for. I asked her if she had anything that resembles what we were shopping for and her response was and I quote "The only thing we have similar to that is in 14kt gold and I don't think you could afford that or be able to spend that type of money" and then completely walked away from us. My daughter and I left completely speechless. Once outside in parking lot I called the store and spoke to a manager. This was by far the worst shopping experience I have ever had in my life. They have completely lost my...
