We’ve lived in this complex since January of 2021, my husband and I moved to VA on orders from the military. When we initially moved in the leasing agents were AMAZING. However, over time the decline of this neighborhood would quickly become a military families worst nightmare. I made a review back in 2022 because we lost internet then to. While I was a full time college student.
Since 2022, May of 2024 my A/C broke and I was forced to stay in hot conditions with my infant child and Golden retriever for 3 days before something was done. I had to literally threaten to sue the complex for breaking lease agreements in order to get anything done. Early June of 2024 my power was disconnected by dominion energy and I again contacted the complex to figure out what was going on since we pay for the “luxury” package. They let me know it had been an error and it a a we was disconnected because someone within management made the mistake of not paying my bill since DECEMBER of 2023. During this time my husband was serving in a 9 month deployment in the Red Sea defending this country LITERALLY!
Oh it doesn’t stop there. My husband came home beginning of July and needed a new key fob and key to our “luxury apartment”. They provided him two fobs that would not work because they were not properly activated. I literally had to go down there upset for them to give him a fob that ACTUALLY would work. You’d think for $2,000 a month, activating a fob wouldn’t be an issue right? WRONG!!! Once the fob was activated I contacted corporate with the MANY issues that we’ve continued to have as loyal tenants within the last few months, they’ve yet to respond to my email or any phone calls to discuss what the hell is happening within the leasing office.
As if that wasn’t enough I spoke to Trina about the internet because I mentioned to her WEEKS AGO I took a work from home job and the internet was already not passing my Federal Jobs internet test. She instructed me that they had a list of routers we could purchase with hopes of remedying this issue. Before I purchased I reached out to cox PERSONALLY to see if we could get our own internet singular from the complex and they told us we couldn’t because the complex has it set up to where they have a business account for the ENTIRE complex making it nearly impossible to get something separate from what they provide.
I started my work from home job Monday July 29th and not even 3 hours into my meetings I was disconnected from the “high speed” internet they’ve claim to provide. As someone who has a Masters degree in Information Technology/Cybersecurity. The firewall being down is actually concerning, are there no security measures in place to prohibit this from occurring? Was the complexed hacked? Why is there no backup? They’ve offered no context or understanding to the problem and have continued to switch when the issue will be fixed. Why would it take 6 days to get a new firewall? Priority shipping is a thing and honestly should’ve been used, considering that there’s multiple people and families working from home.

Read moreLets start off with such a beautiful place really. I decided to help my daughter get an apartment here b/c of how nice. The model of course is awesome. Reality is... when we moved in the carpets were stained, the fridge had to be exchanged out, outside porch had spiders and webs everywhere, and the french doors to outside balcony didn't close all the way, you could see light in and out which allowed bugs and wasted energy. I'm so disappointed about this place b/c as nice as this is ,and as nice as they are, that's not the reality. We followed the lease to the law. I had all payments before due, paid all the upfronts before she even had the apartment. bought the spray stuff required to spray on the granite counter tops to prevent stains and applied it. So we (the parents) were looking forward to getting our money back at the end for the deposit. it wasn't much, maybe $750, but it was something. Would have bought alot of groceries. So here's the thing, everyone dropped their shoes at the door (no carpet there), only my daughter lived there for 6 months. The office told her that she could get her own carpet cleaner but they had one that would do it for her more cheaply. (now, lets' keep in mind that she was 20, dad is on the application) no one contacted him in regard to this. So, when she moved out they supposedly were going to have the carpet cleaned. Well they came back accused her of ruining the carpet and they replaced it at her expense. Problem with this is, my husband didn't know, they did it without discussing. I was told month after month she wouldn't get the deposit back until her YEAR lease was up even though she paid the early fee $2500.00 to get out, so I kept the receipt and repeatedly called with same answer. have to wait on it. Then i called again and am told about the carpet stuff. They say they sent my daughter a check for $129.73. I have no proof of this. Can not locate it in any deposits. AND I was waiting on money, think i wouldn't recall this, waiting month after month. So I advise you to think long and hard about renting here. WE HAVE the photos prior to moving in (b/c I thought OMG look at the floor, but the couch will hide it) and they show the stains. They took advantage of a young girl with parents out of state. We are honest Christians and it's so disappointing to be taken advantage of. PLEASE DON'T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU. BTW: they haven't called me back regarding the photos or emails i have sent. They got their money (regular stuff) then some (early leave fee $2500.00), and then the security deposit ($750-130 that was supposedly sent to us) and they got NEW CARPET for the other tenants at our expense. So should you rent here, go to your apartment before your moving comes. TAKE A VIDEO, AND PICTURES, then have a staff come write them, sign off OR YOU WILL PAY FOR SOMEONE ELSES MISTAKES. Let me start by saying this community was amazing when we first moved in and the management here WAS top notch. Over the years this establishment has degraded to the point that I no longer would wish for my worse enemy to live here. Noise complaints about these two white dogs across the way get absolutely disregarded and while I was on my 9 month deployment in the Red Sea getting missiles shot at us by terrorist my wife was home dealing with a newborn child that I got three weeks with while also dealing with the A/C cutting off for three days and the apartment complex literally having to be threatened with a lawsuit for anything to be done to get it fixed. Fast forward to July of 2024 after I finally got back from deployment and needed a new key fob because I lost my keys before I left it took my wife raising hell in the office for them to do the sensible thing and actually verify that the fob actually worked prior to me leaving for the third time. Now we are currently dealing with a WiFi outage due to a supposed part going bad and needing to be fixed and originally it was supposed to have been fixed on the 1st of August 2024 and then it got pushed off two more days and when I went to go get an update the office was literally empty other than one lady working and not a single manager in site on standby to get this issue fixed as soon as the part comes in and the lady that is working was left without the UPS tracking info for the part and both managers with the information just took the day off knowing that an entire apartment is without WiFi that we are paying over 2000 dollars for. Not so much as a rebate or any form of compensation has been given for this outage and with the management taking the day off knowing this is happening and affecting their tenants just shows just how little this staff cares about their tenants and how much this company does not care about their customers. With all of the fire alarms going off at random times of night and day and the disregard and lack of urgency about this most recent issue just solidifies my final opinion about this complex.
