La Parrilla Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Suffolk

The service was so terrible that it was insulting. The food was good but i was there for about 2 hours and never got a single refill on my drink, it took about 20 minutes just for someone to come and take my order, i was checked on once shortly after the food came out and then i never saw another waiter again for about an hour. I waved someone down to ask for my check and they acknowledged me but i waited and they never brought it. I went up to see if i could pay my check without ever receiving it, and then the waiter rushed up to tell the cashier what i had ordered. I informed her that the food was good but the service was terrible and i was ignored the whole time. She informed me that my waiter had gone on break and that the waiter who was supposed to cover him had forgotten about me and then she laughed and said she was sorry. I tipped around 18% because the service was horrible and I usually tip well above 20%. Even though the food was good, i would never go here again because of the horrible service and how the cashier responded flippantly to complaint and laughed as she told me that the waiter forgot about me. I have never believed in nor ever written anything negative about any place I have eaten. This Mexican restaurant has been my go to place for years and I always take any family guests visiting with us. However today when we were checking out with our bill at the front desk: our bill was less than $40. We tipped 8 dollars. The waiter at the register started raising his voice and said we got you a lot of cokes which is almost $4 the restaurant also charges 3% fee if you pay by credit card He said this was not enough for tip and he tried to become intolerant and intimidating This made me very angry and I refused to be embarrassed I worked as a waiter and bartender to help me pay for university but have never spoken or treated anyone like this. I won’t ever be back which is sad But now will be heading to the Mexican restaurant on college drive in the kohls shopping center Just writing this to let others be warned. I've always wanted to try this place. Decided to drop in on a Sunday afternoon. The sun is baking outside, my body needed fuel to carry me thru the day. So I walk in, love the layout and setup and ask for a menu to see their vegetarian options. The young lady has a pleasant aura, the vibe and atmosphere is nice, family oriented, multiple vegetarian options to choose from. I chose to stay and eat. My attentive waiter took my order a glass of water, a virgin pina colada and vegetarian enchiladas. Chips and dip sweet the mood for magic. The food came out fast, they serve very good portions, and I just say I loved every bite and sip of everything. In fact, I grabbed my phone and dialed my wife to give her the good news. Honey, we don't have to travel far from home for great Mexican food anymore. Needless to say she ordered takeout yesterday and when I found out grabbed me some on the way home. Both experiences were exceptional and the cherry on top is I'll have some good leftovers...
