I read a lot of reviews and visit of lot of local establishment’s for a number of reasons. I love food and drink, I love local businesses, and I love writing reviews on my experience with local businesses. I think this does two-fold. It allows people to read reviews praising local businesses when they have provided a great customer service experience and it also allows people to read reviews admonishing local businesses for provided subpar customer service experiences.
Knott’s Coffee is owned/managed by Obec Hospitality. When I found this out, things started to align a little. Obec Hospitality also owns Westside Burgers, which outside of being dragged by ratings on various sites, was a pretty bad experience for me and I refer you to my review on Westside.
Some of the reviews I have read specifically related to Knotts have been atrocious. But, I can’t speak to those experience because I have not experienced it myself.
I have been to Knott’s Coffee twice now. Once to meet a friend for a cup of Joe in the morning and once at night with my family for their bingo night.
Knott’s is a nice looking establishment. The decor, seating, space in general is well done.
The coffee was coffee. It’s been a while since my first visit, but I’m definitely not sitting here reminiscing about how good it was and couldn’t tell you what I had.
My second visit was last week. My ex mother in law goes to their bingo night, which is pretty cool. You play bingo for about an hour and whoever wins gets a $5 gift card to Knott’s. Not a bad deal and my kids had a great time.
While here I had a couple of their empanadas. Chicken and beef. I had been wanting to try them ever since I first went. Aaaaand unfortunately they weren’t fresh and I received ones that had been sitting in the case. Kind of rubbery. Missed opportunity.
These businesses and the associated Obec Hospitality exist in a crowded space of businesses that provide great culinary and coffee experiences. This is a space where, nowadays with so many options, impressions matter for those who value good customer service.
In my experience customer service is a standard that must be instilled and practiced from the top down. If leaders can’t and don’t set a good standard for customer service, then, well, negative reviews and...
Read morewas in the area today (4/5/2022) .... my wife and I are avid coffee/ cappuccino drinkers ..we were looking for somewhere to go other than Starbucks...so when she mentioned that there was a coffee shop in the area I was elated!!! I entered the building and the young lady's head was down and I heard the most cheerful sounding hello , the energy quickly shifted when the brunette young lady lifted her head and saw " who" actually entered the establishment it literally went from HELLO HOOooooow ( with an abrupt change in tone and facial expression) are you doing ..... I can tell by the area that it is in a very refined location ... as I ordered my 2 bacon egg and cheese empanadas, 2 cinnamon rolls and 1 vanilla cappuccino I had to literally force friendly conversation out of the young lady ... I was the only patron in the store at that time of black ethnicity and I could feel a major difference in the way that i was treated ... I will never support this business again .. this will be my 1st and last time!!! and I will let my associates know exactly what transpired today, I was not just a regular patron !!! I know a lot of ppl who truly enjoy coffee shops who will be appalled to hear about this .... I feel as though your employees need sensitivity training!!!! You should never judge a book by its color or cover!!!! I am the CEO of my own business and would never allow my employees to treat...
Read moreIf I could give them 0 I would. The food is okay, overpriced as hell- and not at all worth what you’re paying for.
Coffee is bitter, and not well made. I’ve been here a few times, and it never gets better. Honestly, gets worse.
And DO NOT, oh my god, do not get me started on their staff. You couldn’t have a worse line up. They are the most rude servers I’ve EVER encountered. The girl with the curly dirty blonde hair and glasses, with the constant attitude- should not be in food service. She always has a horrible attitude. I mean horrible. She simply gets mad for people just walking in the door I’m pretty sure.
The staff is not trained well whatsoever. Constantly forgetting orders. Or screwing them up. Or couldn’t care less. It varies on the day and person I presume.
The management is horrible and they don’t know how to run a shop. That place is way too busy for how understaffed they are. And needs to be shut down.
The place is simple nasty. Chipped plates. Foggy glasses. Water stains on the floor from poor mopping. The barista counters look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. No use in cleaning it at this point, they need a whole new marble counter for how imbedded that grime is.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s basically theft, 16 dollars for a crappy sandwich. Don’t waste your hard...
