I dropped in at this store just out of curiosity on my way to 99¢ Only store and was very pleasantly surprised by their quality, selection, and wonderful LOW PRICES! Take it from me, I'm a bonafide bargain-hunter and I've shopped many different stores looking for the best deals, including club membership stores, and Aldi beats them all - hands down! Sure, the store is kinda smallish, and may not carry every single item on your typical grocery list - like bananas (for some mysterious reason didn't have any in stock when I visited) - but they had other items u wouldn't expect - like other produce such as blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, for example, at very reasonable prices that sell for a PREMIUM elsewhere (take THAT, Costco!)! Overall, I got 98% of the items i needed and saved about 15% to 20% over Walmart prices, and yes, even about 5% savings over Dollar store prices - with much better quality! Highly recommend Aldi for most of your grocery shopping and even some quality hardware items such as pans, cutlery, small appliances, and kitchen gadgets as well! Again, don't be fooled by their outwardly small-building appearance because this store packs a mighty PUNCH for it's size! Aldi, you gave gained a very picky, thrifty-shopper such as myself (wife just says I'm CHEAP!)...
Read moreI am European and generally like ALDI. I am also entirely used to packing my own groceries but the checkout assistant at this particular store did not give me time to pack/organise my groceries and insisted in just placing everything randomly in the cart once scanned therefore previously sorted cold/cool items were mixed with fruit and veg, and tins and bottles were placed on top of bread etc. I kept up a fast pace to try and pack my groceries as soon as he placed them in the trolley. Then he basically told me to move my trolley over there (pointing to a shelved area) When I asked if I could have a little more time to finish packing he responded quite rudely by telling me, in front of other customers, that, 'that is what that area is for' and 'didn't I know that?' So what if I was a parent trying to juggle a toddler and a baby and then finding I must re-organise my thoughtfully arranged shopping prior to going through the scan? Plus being made to feel like an idiot by a young man who quite clearly does not have to do the family shopping and thought it all a great laugh to just see me struggle. This is the first and last time I will go to this ALDI. I understand that ALDI is able to cut costs by cutting corners but customer service should be the number one priority;...
Read moreMy first experience at Aldi was in 2005 in the city of Zurich, Switzerland. I love the way everything was packaged, the cleanliness of the store, but I really appreciated the quality of the products they sold. I was only a weekend in Zurich, so I didn't need much, however, once the stores began to pop up in the Houston neighborhoods, I quickly realized how fortunate it was to have an Aldi grocery store so close to my residence. Now I enjoy their great prices on Dairy products, the freshness of their meats, poultry and the variety of prepackaged seafood. I also enjoy very much their many European products, such as cookies, jams. Today I baught an 8 lbs. cooked ham, which I will further glace and cook for just over $10. I also by my Bustelo coffee there for $2.88, the cheapest in the city. The service is great, but I do wished they had more than the one register open all the time. They will open a second register if needed, but sometimes the line can be quite long. Nonetheless, I like Aldi very much and recommend it to all homemakers trying to save and still provide quality for...
