Beans Up Coffee — Restaurant in Sugar Land

I mean.. I’m not impressed. At all. First thing I noticed was there’s no indication of the store being open or not from the outside. Not that that’s an issue but I think having an open sign facing the street would help people know immediately or not if youre open.

As far as the service, dude was cool. Could’ve been more personable and welcoming instead of standing off to the side. Seems like there isn’t traditional customer service training implemented.

That’s fine though.

The coffee is my issue.

This caramel macchiato or whatever latte, I’m not sure. It’s literally gas station quality coffee. I definitely won’t be coming back here.

I told myself if yall can make a caramel macchiato/latte right I’ll definitely trust your other drinks. But lord have mercy. I could’ve just walked to the corner store and bought a $3 cup of coffee and it would’ve tasted the exact same.

I’m not really sure how to feel about that because the set up and concept is so cute.

The execution and coffee quality is revealing though.

Stop being cheap. Invest in genuine quality coffee.

Google found this coffee place when I searched for coffee shops. It’s not so much a coffee shop, more a coffee take-away with one small table next to the counter where they serve your order. It wasn’t what I was looking for as I wanted to sit in a comfortable chair and read my book, but since I was here I decided to stay and write my review while sitting on a not very comfortable high chair in their foyer next to the serving counter. It’s Googles fault I ended up at a coffee take-away with limited seating so I can’t fault them on that and I really had to stay as I don’t eat or drink in any car after an unfortunate incident some time ago which left an indelible stain on the door and seat of my car. The coffee here was excellent. I had a caramel latte hot, it had just the right amount of caramel flavoring to sweeten without hiding the coffee. And it was reasonably priced at $5.15. So despite Googles mistake Beans Up get five stars since they delivered exactly what I ordered, a delicious...

I've been here 3 times so far and have been very impressed - I live right around the corner. Be forewarned there is very limited space inside this establishment - so they are banking primarily on counter service or drive through - no tables to set up and stay awhile but there's hardly room for that anyway. I went in twice and drive through once. Both times the employees were friendly and helpful. If ordering inside and paying with a card, there is a touch screen you can navigate yourself and they have tons of flavors and add on options. Plant milks are also available. I've enjoyed an iced matcha latte with lavender cold foam twice. Then a hot matcha latte with extra matcha once. All times were great! I think I've decided the perfect offer for me is an extra scoop of matcha and half sweet. I liked the flavored cold foam if I order iced- but I rarely do.
