Hi all. My first review is under Mozelle if you would like to take a look!
The day after Thanksgiving my family and I were ready to purchase our Christmas tree! Of course Michaelโs was our first option. We decided to go to one a little further out from the store closes to us just because this Michaels is not the most pleasant. We went to the Richmond location and found a cute pencil pre lit tree. However, once we put it together, the top half did not light up. We decided to go in the next day to the location closes to see about exchanging it.
My family and I wanted to first go in, and see if they had the same tree. If so, we would do the exchange. As soon as we got to the tree area, we saw Merce (store manager). I told my girlfriend that that was her so she would be aware. We then spotted our replacement tree. My girlfriend and our two daughters went to the checkout while I went to the car to retrieve the faulty tree. As I was heading out the store, so was Merce. Appearing to be speaking on a walkie talkie to an employee regarding store sales. Once I made my way back inside. She was at checkout with my family asking my girlfriend where is the returning tree. At that point I had reached them. She then cuts off the young lady working the cash register who was politely assisting, asking us for the receipt. She tells her that she seen my girlfriend yesterday and donโt need the receipt. Completely lying and rushing the interaction.
It was so weird and unprofessional. No one checked our receipt to make sure it was a legit transaction. Letโs also talk about her appearance. She looked very underdressed to be a store manager. She had the same exact bonnet on her head that she interviewed me with. If it wasnโt for her walking around appearing to be working, you would think she was a shopper who just got out of bed. Do better and stop hating on pretty black women who have presence and capability. I promise I wasnโt planning on coming for your position. I wanted to help. Which now I see, YOU are the problem. Tanya did try to warn me about you in my first interview. Poor staff. I feel bad for them. I...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is specifically from my experience in the frame department.
I went in looking to built a custom frame to put some 3 pictures, 2 diplomas, ring, 2 medals, 2 tassels and two engraving plates I made in their store. The first day I went everything went well. David made my order with the silver frame I wanted and a suede background. I paid more than $600 since it was 40in x 30in and got a huge discount (originally +1400).
The first issue was when I called to make sure David got the order of the tassels and medals correct since we never spoke about the order. Another employee told me that there was an issue of the frame I choose since they didnโt know if there was going to be enough space between the glass and items. I was told David was going to call back. I never got a call back.
I went in two days later after no one contacted me. Another employee looked over my order and agreed that there was issues on the first order. That day I spent more than 1 hour trying to fix my order and told me it was going to be delayed if I ordered a new one. It was past closing time and I was just told to come back a third time to speak with Ms. Cathy which I believed was the main person from the frame department.
On the third day I went to speak with Ms. Cathy and was told she left early. I was being helped by two employees but got fustruated since I paid +$600 on a single frame and couldnโt get the order started and was taking too long.
I asked them to make the plates and call me when theyโre ready. I asked for a refund on the frame. The two engraving plates were $48. After not hearing from the employees for a couple of days I called and Cathy answered. She told me the plates were taped to a cardboard box they gave me my pictures and certificates back. I never saw those plates taped to the cardboard box and even called the new company I sent my items to check the cardboard box.
Basically they charged me for items I never received.
I would not recommend building a frame in Micheals due to the lack of professionalism and lack of communication within...
ย ย ย Read moreMy experience here was very uncomfortable. For the people that's reading this comment, watch out for an employee named Precious. He is a tall dark man who i believe that could possibly be mentally disabled who likes to profile and stalk black patrons. To make a long story short. I saw him follow a black couple around the store and to their car once they were done purchasing their items and proceeded to do the same with my family and I. He appeared on every aisle to try and "help" us, which made us feel very uncomfortable. But meanwhile on numerous occasions I saw other patrons asking for assistance to which he ignored. Which was odd to us, especially since we didn't even ask for the help. You lost trust in the people who keeps your company running. The fact that he followed us out to our vehicle is what makes people lose interest in shopping at this establishment. Normally, I can forgive the stigma but for this store not to have all the items that i needed, along with the profiling is what led me to give Michael's a 1 star. Do better Michael's!!! Because it's going to be the employees that YOU hired that's going to run your business through the ground. Not the...
