Ordered on too good to go. This was my first order from the app and I was excited to try this place given all the good reviews. I walked in and one man around the grill said hello. The cashier was taking care of someone eating inside. When they finished their interaction I assumed someone would come help me. There were at least 6 workers around the front. After about 2 minutes of just standing there, I noticed they had a “online orders” area off to the side of the pick up register. I moved to that spot and was still ignored for another 2 minutes. Finally, some guy (who previously walked past me while waiting in the online orders section), asked me if I’d told them my pick up order details. I replied “no, no one has asked me”. Then he mumbled something under his breath and to the cashier next to him. That’s when I walked to the front and asked what I was supposed to do because each area I stood in no one acknowledged I was there. The cashier said “you need to tell us you’re here so that we can get the order ready for you”. I told him again, that no one had asked me anything. I didn’t know I was just supposed to walk up to them and show them my phone?? Like that’s weird, most restaurants you go to, someone asks you “how can I help you”. Anywho he continues on about how they’re so busy and this and that. I told him i understood that but they can’t get annoyed with me for not being helped. The cashier apologized the other guy went and made the plate I assume. The fame out fast and was very mediocre. I received a leg quarter lots of black beans and rice and some burnt plantains. Really hate this had to be my first experience using the “too good to go” app but hey, at least I know where not to spend...
Read moreWe eat Peruvian food often. Pros: the chicken and the fries were great. The salad and dressing were not. The dressing is very vinegary and not the creamy style that is typical. To me it tasted “chemically.” The rice was ok. Store was clean. Good Criolla music. They made a mistake on our order, and handled it very well. Staff (except for the waitress) were nice. Cons: they have gone from a fast food model to a sit down. So now you have to tip. And in our case the waitress was impatient, dismissive of questions and rather useless. I found we had to get up to get most things ourselves anyway. Later during our stay, she took her break and loudly talked on her phone. They serve the food with the cheapest styrofoam plates, ketchup and mayo in packets. The soft drink dispenser was down, so we asked for water. They brought us bottled water and charged us. A sit down restaurant that charges for water? Sauces: they used to have decent, but now they aren’t as good. The red sauce is watered down and flavorless. The salad was cut so small it was hard to eat. No quality control on the toppings. I.e. tomates were not the best. Oh, and they discontinued their very tasty soup. Why?
Suggestions: get the Peruvian staff back in there. It was much better with people who understand Peruvian cuisine. Go back to a fast food model. Refine the sauces. Invest in a better salad. MAKR SURE YOU HAVE INCA COLA for crying out loud!!! Get that soda dispenser fixed.
This place is 1 hour away for us. Won’t be back for a while. There are better Peruvian places closer. BUT with some tweaks, this place can be as good or better than...
Read moreI just purchased rotisserie chicken and what is supposed to be cilantro rice and some vegetables! Apparently the people eating here have no taste buds because this place got 4.9 stars WTH! I just called and spoke to the manager named George and he pacified me and told me that they have a lot of NEW restaurants opening!?.... why they're opening more restaurants I have no idea but ask the city of Houston why they're allowing these people to open restaurants.....what ? that's an excuse for your terrible food who told you to open another restaurant you all need to shut your doors all the way. I am a chef I have been preparing these dishes for years and I told him his food was horrible. the rotisserie chicken was bland it was overcooked and dried out... Who dries out dark meat? The rice was raw, under cooked and actually tasted like some sunflower seeds I ate earlier in the day. And the mixed vegetables, I swear that was out of the can but he says they were frozen which ever they were still terrible. I don't know who's giving these people business but you people apparently don't have any type of pallet you eat anything oh and by the way if you are from Peru and your Peruvian what the heck are you sending me tortillas with my meal for? You need to hire chefs that know the cuisine and how to prepare it rather than wasting money on these fancy flyers that you run around sticking on everybody's door or on their car windshield. And I had to give you a star, you don't deserve any stars... if they had a negative sign in front of them I WOULD CHOOSE NEGATIVE FIVE...
