Piccolo — Restaurant in Sugar Land

Exceptional! From the outside you would never know it but this is some of the best food in the area. The owner waited on us and I’m fairly certain we said goodbye to his wife on the way out. You can tell they take incredible pride in their food and the experience of eating it. Wine recommendation was on-point and super reasonably priced. Bread: soft, perfectly buttered and seasoned. -Calamari: tender but crispy -Simple dinner salad didn’t look impressive but had delicious tangy dressing that ensured you were not going to leave any of it on your plate. Finally, the main course!! I had the salmon, a fish which I love and cook all the time, It was perhaps the best cooked and sauced salmon I’ve ever tasted, roasted vegetables with just the right spice mix and the linguini with red sauce... wow. Bottle of GREAT wine, appetizer, 2 dinners all for under $90.

I haven’t had better Italian for 2x that price.

We went last night looking for near by italian restaurants, and without expectations we found "Piccolo Café italiano" Just arriving we where transported to Europe, the ambience, the music, phenomenal, we sat and we ordered, in the mean time, a basket full of homemade garlic bread and italian herbs. Waiting the food made us realize de where in a traditional place, family owned and that for us means that dinner was going to tale its time but tottaly worth it, awesome service and the best part, outstanding food. I only come to this part of Houston once every 3 months for work and I make sure I come to this little Gem every time! The prices are so reasonableand the portions large! They have Escargot on the menu and that's what brought me in the first time! And biting into it is like tasting heaven! I have not found anything on the menu that isnt excellent!
