Super Target. Great selection of clothing, accessories, home goods, toys, bikes, lighting, etc. Good selection of frozen food entrees and snack foods, and canned goods as well. Produce section is not the best at having a nice selection , but it is fresh.
Visited this Target again recently and they have made some great changes to their merchandising of make up and all women's beauty products. It looks very much like a Sephora style set up. They are also starting to carry a whole lot more high end line of all kinds of women's beauty products , in several categories like;
skin care, and even specialty vitamins designed to help skin, hair, and nails. Several new nice lines of bath and body wash products, and accessories .
The women's shoes this season are extremely cute, some if the best selection of fashionable and fun summer flats and wedge heels in fun leopard prints and fun summer solid colors in slides and ankle strap wedge heels that are very fashionable and at great price points too. But, they are selling our fast because of how fabulous they are and at those prices , it is hard to pass up. . They are also carrying some very nice women's clothing lines. A new line of designer dresses for summer in fun bright summer colors like chartreuse green and royal blue, and fuchsias and Kelly green! Even the casual hippie look has a new designer that is some if the best I have seen anywhere A lot of great pencil straight ankle length , fitted slacks with fun plaid and check patterns in summer colors like mustard yellow , olive green, and some variations on ,Glen plaid, and a great summer print with classic red and white check. The mens department had some very nice polo shirts and shorts in a new line and Urban modern male look by a line called Goodfellow. Very nice classic preppy feel to it , but not too preppy. This Target on Eldridge is always well maintained with clean merchandising , and very nicely laid out with out too much on their sales floor . Very sleek like a Nordstrom or Said kind of minimalistic feel to it's merchandising style. Not too many of any style. Limited quantities is always more appealing. Can't wait...
Read moreThis store is well known for cashier and manager making up their own rules. None of the Target in the area has limit on formula except this store. Don't go here to get formula because you don't know which cashier/manager would make up their own rule and waste your time. At this store, the formula shortage/formula limit was removed years ago, some cashiers would claim there would be a limit of 3 cans/customer, other times other cashier would claim 3 cans/type/customer. Tonight, the MANANGER claimed that there was a limit of 4 cans/customer. I pointed out that there was ABSOLUTELY no sign regarding the limit but she wouldn't budge. Now, imagine waiting 'til your baby was asleep so you could run errand of getting formula. You ran and grabbed 12 cans of formula as approved by WIC. You couldn't use self check out even though there was no SCO customer. Wasn't the purpose of having SCO was to save customers time? Why would the manager send the customers to wait in line when no one is using SCO? So, now imagine, you had to wait in line for the cashier to be available. Then when it was time to pay, the manager came and made up her own rule about formula limit of 4 cans! Hello Target Eldridge! If there was truly have a limit, post it up so you wouldn't waste my time. If there was a sign, I would have gotten 4 cans and use SCO and go home with my baby! To the manager: It would be ok if you didn't know the formula shortage had been resolved years go, just don't make up your own rule! I could have called corporate right then and there but I left all the formula I picked out and went to Walmart instead! Yes, Target Eldridge wasted my time so I would rather go to Walmart and spent my money...
Read moreMy "3" rating is being posted after today...previously it would have been a 5+. I've been a frequent customer at this Target (Far West location in Houston) since it opened 11 years ago for greeting cards, beauty/drug items and groceries. However I just found out today that the "changes" they are making, equates to "converting" this Super-Target to a "regular" Target. Target's decision to make this change will, based on the reaction of those I talked to today, result in many unhappy customers (several people indicated they won't be shopping there nearly as often) and hopefully significantly reduced sales. Target's decision to make this change doesn't seem to make sense since the store is always crowded every time I go in to shop. One reason I've enjoyed shopping at this store is bc it's so easy to run in-and-out on my way home from work, such that I'm not required to make a trip to an out-of-the-way grocery store. I am very unhappy that they're removing the meat items (they carry some special items we really enjoy, and my husband loves their ground beef bc it has less grisel than other stores) and other items that make this store so special. What the conversion of my neighborhood Target means is I will have to make a trip to either one of the 2 Katy locations or the Grand Parkway location in Richmond (all of which are about 30 minutes away) every 2-3 months to buy these items...and I seriously doubt I will bother. Thanks a lot Target; you are about to lose one previously happy customer...now I might shop with you a few times a year to buy...
