This was an excellent place for any one to stay. The staff was great. My brother has been here for 10 months, and this has been a wonderful place until now. Things have changed drastically since Will White, Administrator, is no longer there. On September 6, 2025 at 1800, I notice a very concerning problems. After a day trip, my brother and I returned with my brother, who lives there, and no one would come to the door for about 15 minutes to let us in. Residents were walking around near the door unsupervised and a couple of the residents told us the staff was asleep, as they pointed to the room they said that they were asleep in. A staff member from the kitchen finally came to let us inside. Upon getting to my brother's room there was no one to unlock the door. There were residents wandering around totally unsupervised in the common areas in the both back hallways and no staff members were found. A young lady and man from the kitchen staff was trying to help us local the Aides with the key. We searched for about 30 minutes before the medication aide came to let us in. She said that she was the only one working with the medications. Still no CNA was found to assist us. I asked when was the dinner being served. Typically the residents are at the tables being served or eating at 1800. No tables were set up and no residents had been served any meals nor drinks. I know that dementia residents require constant supervision and monitoring for safety concerns. Also, no one received any meal or drink. I reported my concerns to the Med Aide and that is when she told me she was alone, however she thought there were a CNA somewhere. All units were grossly understaffed and no supervision in accordance with the state regulations. Very Concerned. This is a dangerous situation for the residents. Please bring Will White back as the administrator. This has never happened under...
Read moreThe majority of the caregivers are wonderful, caring people. Unfortunately, the Auberge does not hire nearly enough of these caregivers, so the place is woefully understaffed.
The front office experiences very high turnover and is another case entirely. When signing the initial contract upon move-in, they neglect to point out the predatory pricing practices family members are forced to agree to. Signing this contract occurs at a time of great duress for family members, and the Auberge capitalizes on family members’ weakness.
When providing the required 14-day notice of moving out, I would advise everyone to beware of the minute details you must adhere to in order to comply with their specific move-out notification.
If you can manage any sort of refund for unused days (due to your loved one moving out for any reason, even death), be prepared to wait weeks to receive it. In our case, it took 80 days to receive our refund, even though their contract states that any refunds will be received within 30 days of move-out. Further, in addition to the required 14-day notice (up to 30 days in some instances), be aware that the Auberge also charges for caregiving even on days when your loved one is in the hospital and clearly not receiving care at Auberge.
Make no mistake, The Auberge cares far more about your money than your loved one. Of course, in an industry where customer loyalty and retention are irrelevant, I guess I shouldn’t...
