UPDATE since posting my review, I have spoken with the owner and feel we have settled the issue. Upon hearing what had happened, Rubal offered a refurbished iPad to the same specs as the one that was broken. I really appreciate this gesture and feel that he did everything to make an unfortunate situation better.
I would give ZERO stars if it were an option!!! To say I have learned my lesson to take my devices only to the manufacturer is an understatement.
I brought my son’s 9th generation iPad to have the screen repaired. There was a large crack and part of the screen missing in the upper corner (but the iPad continued to function normally, without issues). I was assured this was an “easy fix,” and they had the screen in stock. I was told it would be able to be picked up the following day. The next day, mid afternoon I called to follow up, and was then told that the screen they had in stock was unfortunately defective and they needed to order another one. Again, I was assured the iPad would be able to be picked up the next day or at the latest the following morning.
I waited 2 days to follow up (now going on the 3rd day of them having the iPad). I was told it was not ready to be picked up because it needed to be sent to a technician. I was then asked if I had any previous issues with it shutting down randomly to which I said absolutely not! He said “unfortunately these things happen sometimes and their technician would fix THEIR mistake” and would call when it was ready! I NEVER authorized my device to be sent out to ANYONE! Nobody called, followed up or notified me that THEY had damaged my iPad (which was only purchased 8months prior)!
The next morning (at my instance) they called to tell me it wouldn’t be fixed for a few more days…now going on a week). I said it was unacceptable and was coming to pick it up! My husband was given a VERY difficult time in trying to get our iPad back and it took over an hour for them to have the technician bring it back to the store. They wanted to charge us the $170 they quoted us for the “fixed screen” and would “wave the fee for the internal repair” because they caused the issue!
Immediately we took it to Apple, where the device wouldn’t charge, and would no longer even turn on! It was completely broken and useless! The screen they had put back on wasn’t sealed or even on correctly! The Apple technician was stunned to see that someone would pass this off as “fixed.” I went in with a fully functioning iPad with a cosmetic screen issue, to a completely broken iPad!
I hope that no one ever uses this place to have their devices fixed because if it happened to me, this can happen to anyone attempting a...
Read moreA Cautionary Tale: The eRepair Summit Experience
In an ill-fated decision, I opted for eRepair Summit to replace my iPhone 15 Pro's screen, a choice I now regret. The initial service, costing $293 including a screen protector, seemed satisfactory. However, what unfolded next was a series of unfortunate events that I feel compelled to share.
Five days post-repair, an unsettling gluey odor emanated from the device. Two days later, the phone began to swell alarmingly. Upon returning to the store, an employee named Manish acknowledged that excessive force during screen installation had caused the issue. He offered a complimentary battery replacement, even documenting this on my receipt.
What initially appeared to be customer-centric service quickly devolved into a frustrating ordeal. Three consecutive visits yielded nothing but apologies and unfulfilled promises regarding the battery's availability. Exasperated, I turned to Apple, who replaced my device for $350.
The final insult came when I sought a refund from eRepair Summit. The staff member on duty (on 11/20/24 around 3:00 PM) callously dismissed my claim, stating, "I don't have proof that your battery is swelled," and refused any compensation.
This experience has been a stark reminder of the importance of choosing authorized service providers. I strongly advise against using eRepair Summit, given their demonstrated incompetence and poor customer service. In retrospect, going directly to Apple would have saved time, money, and considerable frustration.
Let my experience serve as a warning: when it comes to high-end devices like the iPhone 15 Pro, entrust your repairs only to authorized and reputable...
Read moreI went to have a nintendo lite fixed because one joystick wasnt working. Theu quoted me 150.00 dollars to fix it. A new nintendo lite costs 199.00 so I told them to forget about it. I took the nintendo to a different store and they fixed it in 20 minutes for 45.00. I told them the price that I was previously quoted and the repairman thought it was ridiculous.
To respond to the owner who claims I am confused. I'm not. I took it to the your shop in the picture on Springfield Ave in Summit. I work nearby so I had dropped it off. Maybe you dont keep good records or your employees are quoting customers prices you are not aware of. I would have loved to have it repaired then and there but the price you quoted was 150.00 to repair and I said to not go ahead with the repair and I picked the switch up and had it repaired elsewhere. I also have my phone records that show I spoke to someone...
