I stopped into King's Things this week after seeing an announcement on facebook that they were reorganizing and revitalizing their shop. I see that there are quite a few negative reviews that don't accurately reflect the current situation. I had a chance to talk to the new manager and one of the volunteers and they were both as nice as can be. While I was there, two other sets of patrons shopped and the staff was kind and polite to everyone including differently-abled people and people speaking Spanish. I hope people will give this new management another chance and not be dissuaded by the older negative reviews.
The thrift store is jam packed no doubt due to increased donations during this revitalization. One side of the shop currently has furniture and some housewares, while the other larger side is clothing. Two smaller areas in the back of the larger side have shoes and more housewares/linens. It is a lot of work to organize donations in such a small space, but there seems to be a plan to get things sorted with expanded room for clothing.
Prices were very significantly cheaper than the thrift chains. I purchased a lovely stained glass suncatcher and a vintage pottery lazy susan snack set for $15. As always, I encourage you to "round up" if you can afford it as the proceeds from the shop fund the local...
Read moreI have been in this store numerous times just recently. I have found the prices and all the special deals that they have going on to be awesome. (ex. Buy one get one free, 50% 0ff ect.) Have always been greeted by courteous and helpful staff. I guess what some people don't realize is that 1)they are all volunteers that work there. 2) all proceeds go to helping the community with things like heating , electric and many other things. 3) the main thing is the food bank. Which they help so many family's in there time of need. Maybe those who like to post bad reviews should take the time and volunteer for a week and see how much each one of these volunteers puts into it. Its alot more then just standing there. And they should see just how many people there so called over priced items help. Like I said before unlike some of these other charities that have over priced CEO'S they are all volunteers. Be kind, patient, and giving. A lot of people...
Read moreWe have been donating to this store and shopping here since we have lived in this town, which is 7 years. This past Saturday, 5/10/25, my husband was cleaning out the garage and went up to donate a few things. He tried to donate a ceiling fan, and the lady said they don’t take them. He came back with a lamp, and the lady very rudely said “fine, just leave it right there.” He realized he had a belt in his hand so he turned back around and said “Do you want this belt?” She yelled at him and said “GET OUT OF HERE NOW.” He told her we have donated here for 7 years, and she screamed at him that she did not care. All of this transpired with another customer at the counter. What an interesting approach for someone at a Christian based store to treat...
