Meijer — Local services in Sycamore Township

I love this place for a few reasons, which is weird to think of a grocery store, but so what!

The girl who works in the bakery (I'm sorry I don't know your name). Multiple occasions now, I will come into the store looking for just a flavor, with no real idea of what I want, and she is the most lovely, friendly vivacious girl. Looking for something super chocolate? Try this tasty bomb cake! Carrot cake? This bar has a perfect moistness. Today I came in and said I wanted something with sharp lemon. And as happy as could be she presented to me the perfect little portion pie from the freezer of lemon icebox pie. It was exactly what I needed.

I mean its great to walk away with something you know is going to be yummy. But its more about how she makes you feel. A nice smile and a friendly attitude will go a long way! Good on you happy bakery girl! You literally made my day.

The lady upfront at self-checkout (again terrible with names, sorry). The lady up-front is so kind! I have not have the best day physically and extra trips to places that I don't want to go to was really weighing on my mind. Not only did she come help my husband and I scan our heavy things before we even tried to lift them; but she was actively listening to us and let me know that customer service center sold quarters, so I didn't have to make any extra trips to other places to get my laundry quarters and such. She was just extremely pleasant and kind. Thank you!

I did a pick up over at Meijer in Sycamore for the very first time.Totally disappointed. My apricots were all over the back of my truck my chips had apples placed on top. I requested that she put all the bags in the insulated bag so they don't rip that's why everything was all over the back of the truck. Called no Sup was available was told she would call back. She did but went into my voicemail. The number was incorrect that I tried calling several times . I tried pick up service again some of my fruit was moldy. Tried one more time for pick up and it was great. Training is much needed in the pick up Department. So I spoke to a supervisor Brenda who quickly turned my situation into my fault. I did not know the specific date so she said she couldn't help me. She said how do I know you're not trying to get a $15 credit. As the call back supervisor stated. I was not happy with that statement. She cut me off a couple times, She raised her voice. Basically she said she could not help me in any particular way. Because she didn't know the date I was there which I didn't have in front of me. Because I figured she could pull it up. Nope! I would suggest if you are handicap and unable to go into the store. Don't use Meijer Sycamore which is supposed to be convenient.I use Walmart pick up....

i am posting this from a message board I read on Facebook what’s happing in sycamore this is sad. Fix it. I have a kinda sad story from today November 19, 2021 ! I stopped into Meijer’s Sycamore to look for something. I was weaving thru the produce section picking up some thing that I wasn’t there to buy/ that is always the problem with me and shopping but this isn’t about me. I spotted a lady with a bunch of cilantro in her hand and could tell she was looking for the bags. I spotted them above her head and they weren’t pulled down - so I walked up to her and said “ they are here above your head”. I pulled one bag off the roll and then looked for some water on the case of the produce department so I could get grip on the top of the bag to open it for her to drop her cilantro bunch into. She said to me “ we just moved here and had decided that this wasn’t a very friendly place- but today you have changed my mind on that - thanks” ! I felt so sad that these new residents shopping in a store in sycamore felt that way. I wish looking back at it that I had talked with her a little more - be kind to everyone please! Happy...
