This USED to be our favorite place to get great Chinese food. I Always reccomended it to anyone that asked about good Chinese food. never again! We ordered from here on Saturday over the past weekend and were unfortunately extremely upset. I called at 6:35pm to place our order (which was over $50) and the gentleman on the phone told me 45 minutes maybe an hour. (We live maybe 5 minutes away from them but I understand it was the weekend and they were most likely busy.) At 8 pm I called them wondering where our order was, as it had been an hour and a half since I called, and was told it'd be another 15 minutes. When I mentioned that it had been well over an hour that we've already waited the man on the phone rudely told me that it had only been 1 hour and 17 minutes and so I explained to him that I called at 6:35 according to my phone and then was on hold for almost ten minutes listening to someone moving around while they were holding onto the phone. He apologized and said 15 more minutes. So ok we finally get our food at 8:15, an hour and 50 minutes after we ordered, excited to finally eat. Unfortunately our egg rolls were cold and very hard, the Sweet & Sour Chicken my kids got had more tiny chunks of just fried batter than there was chicken, picture of some of the fried batter in the carton included. Our Pork fried rice had quite a few huge chunks of just fat. My husband and I each ordered a Mein Fun dish and the flavor just wasn't like it used to be. We were extremely upset that not only did we have to wait so long, but our food wasn't even fresh. When these owners took over about 8 or so years ago they were amazing, everything tasted excellent so much as so that we tried many new things we've never ever had before because it was always so good. We used to order a couple times a month. Well we won't order from there again after this past time, or if we do it will be a long while. We haven't ordered from there in a while because we'd noticed that things just weren't as good as it used to be and this last time just ruined...
Read moreAgreed, way too much breading/batter on the chicken that shouldn't have breading/batter on it. Today, I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special. The chicken was tiny little pieces of battered/breaded nothingness. Before I open the bag, it noticed it smelled like fried chicken. Much to my surprise, it was fried chicken with very few vegetables. I have never seen Kung Pao fried or battered/breaded. Honestly, it didn't even taste like chicken, not that I could taste anything through the salty batter/breading. I had the fried rice with it and together it was all very greasy. I couldn't eat the chicken, it was just gross. I do not understand why you would mess with a classic if you couldn't do it well. The menu should say meat is fried & battered/breaded, because not everyone wants to eat that. Many people have allergies/intolerance to wheat/gluten or prefer to eat healthier. I would not return for...
Read moreWe heard good things about this place, so I gave it a shot and bought 4 different kinds of sushi - I will not he returning. When I walked in the place it was not well kept (torn wallpaper, dirty smell when you walk in, and the customer service was awful), but I went through with it anyway. I came home and opened it up and it was not as depicted. The salmon rolls were served totally different from how the picture was portrayed, the avacado rolls were the same way, as were the Boston rolls, so on and so forth. The avacado they used were super over ripe and were pretty much mush, and the wasabi tasted as if it was expired. I would rather get sushi from any other place that sells sushi in the Dekalb/Sycamore area. I gave it a 2/5 because the sushi was at least edible, nothing was spoiled, but beyond that I couldn't rate it any higher. If you have a craving for sushi, you should probably...
