I dropped off my cherished engagement ring last week. I called on Wednesday to see if it was ready . I was told to check back the next day and that it will be ready then . And I did and it was ready . I was told that I could come pick it up . Unfortunately I am a college student and had class and work that day so I was unable to pick it so . I went today on Friday to pick it up I went at 4 pm after my work has ended. This is your normal working hours . When I got to the store there was a note taped to the door saying we are closed from Aug 25-sept 11. Today is the 25th . When I was told my ring was ready yesterday I was not informed of this closing . I will now have to wait weeks for my ring that is finished. This is a very special item to me that I dearly want to wear . I have plans to go home the next weekend to see my family for the first time since the engagement. I will sadly have to tell them that I do not have the ring due to lack of communication from the Jewelers. I am very displeased with the conduct of Hollifield Jewelers . I requested a ring design from them on July 24th and left with them some family diamonds. It wasn’t until August 20th that I got a drawing of a ring which failed to include features that I stressed were important to the design. After expressing my dissatisfaction and restating what I wanted in the design, I was told “we can do it!” After that, the only time I heard back from them was when I asked to get my diamonds, when I was told that I wouldn’t be able to access my diamonds for a week in September as they were on vacation. Anyway, after determining that they just weren’t going to help me anymore, I finally went and got my diamonds over two months after having giving them to them. All I got in that time was a bad drawing. Thankfully I didn’t pay anything upfront. I used to get my girlfriend a necklace there every year - they seem like nice people, and a decent place to buy already-made jewelry on display.
