I have always loved Earthwise and the quality of products offered as well as their grooming services, however, my experience yesterday had me so upset. Amanda previously groomed our dog and has always done an excellent job in keeping the look of the doodle. Unfortunately, Amanda did not groom our dog yesterday. Upon entering the store, Lisa came out to get our dog and I discussed grooming with her. I personally gave Amanda handwritten notes of how I like our dog to be groomed and she followed them. Grooming a doodle is different. Lisa said she had all of the notes and said she previously groomed Rusty, which I do not think was the case. My husband stayed in store with our dog while being groomed. Lisa was not the one to groom our dog; we never actually talked with the lady who groomed him, which I have never experienced before. Lisa told my husband the matting was so bad that they had to cut his hair really short, which was absolutely not the case. Yes, he had some matting around where his harness goes but I bathed and brushed him a ton last week to make sure he wasnât matted. Also, no one else has ever had an issue. Our dog is 7 and I have been taking him the same amount of times to get groomed since he was a puppy. Lisa and whoever groomed him completely changed the look of our dog - changed the shape of his ears, did not leave his hair long on top like I asked (I.e. doodle look!), shaved around his genital areas which I specifically wrote in my previous notes not to do because our dog gets really irritated, and the cut is overall so uneven. Additionally, Amanda always left a little cotton ball for his tail because he doesnât have one and I asked Lisa about it before she took him back. She said she would do it, but unfortunately, it is not there. It is practically down to skin on some parts of his back legs, which is not necessary. I was just about in tears last night - our dog looks completely different. Upon checking out, I had questions about his cut and so Lisa came out to speak to (intentionally not using âwithâ)me. I asked Lisa a couple of questions and she began to tell me that our dog is not well taken care of and others bring their dogs in every 4-6 weeks for grooming. (Anyone who knows me knows that my dog is the most well taken care of dog and is our pride and joy. We do not have children.) Lisa proceeded to tell me they followed all of the notes and they canât put the hair back on. She also told me that maybe I need to find another groomer. It was incredibly embarrassing and hurtful how she spoke with me, especially in front of 2 other customers. She also said that our dog tried to bite them, which is something I have never experienced. My guess is that our dog sensed they were in the wrong and we even wonder if they intentionally cut him short and completely changed his look on purpose. I stopped talking and quietly turned around and walked out the door following payment. Lisa yelled out in a condescending way...âBye Jenniferâ! This was not necessary or appropriate. I can only imagine what she said about me to the customers behind me after I left the store. Yes, I fully appreciate I have specific requests for grooming but he isnât a typical dog to groom - he is a doodle and it is different. Amanda never seemed to have any trouble with grooming him and maybe thatâs obecause she has more experience with doodles. Based on the responses from other negative feedback, I am fully prepared to receive a response that says I am in the wrong because that appears to be the trend with Lisa. All I know is that Amanda did an excellent job grooming him and this experience was completely different and now our dog does not look like himself. I know his hair will grow back but I am heartbroken that he looks so different. @Dan - I always appreciate your friendliness and guidance. Thank you! (Note: this is my first negative review on google - I donât have many reviews but tend to let negative things go because anyone could just be having a bad day but this...
Read moreAfter using this facility for the past 3 years, I just had my last visit at Harperâs Point EarthWise. On my 1st visit, I explained that my dog had never had a bath before I got him, a couple of months prior & that he screamed the whole time he is being bathed & dried. Dan laughed & said not to worry, that there were a few customers with this issue & we were welcome to use the self-wash,. Over the years Dan has been extremely kind & helpful,, Always remembers my name, but more importantly, my dogâs name! Lisa has always been a bit stand-offish, but since I donât use her grooming service, I donât have much interaction with her. While I agree, my dog screaming through the entire bath is annoying...super-annoying, each time I came in, I would speak with Dan & apologize for the noise. He would reiterate that we were welcome customers. Even though each visit takes well over an hour, due to my dogâs coat. Today, when I came in, I was greeted by the cashier & I took my dog back & began giving him his bath. Dan was not there, but I didnât think anything of it. After about 45 minutes Lisa approached while I was rinsing my dog. She indicated that the Doctors âs Office above us had called & was concerned about the screaming. I apologized. She was standing there, like Well, shut him up! I again apologized & said, Iâm not sure what you want me to do...? She just kept saying: well, the Doctorâs Office is concerned. I apologized again, all the while continuing to rinse my dog...& yes, he continued to scream. She went to walk out of the room & said: Well, if you could just hurry up, youâve been here a long time. That was when I finally stood up for myself. Do you honestly think Iâm trying to take my time here!?! I asked Dan from the beginning if we would be welcome here & each visit after & have always been told we were welcome! Iâm going as fast as I can. Lisa just kept saying the Doctors were concerned.& that I was there for a long time. Tell you what, this will be my last visit here & you wonât have to worry about it again. She started fumbling over herself & I told her I was done talking to her. Again, I get it. You have business neighbors complaining. If Dan had said to me, We understand your dog has bath issues & while we understand, we have business neighbors that may be disturbed by the noise...could you keep you bath visits to weekends & evenings? I would have been extremely receptive to that! If I hadnât ask Dan each visit if we were welcome, I wouldnât be so mad. So instead of me buying a bag of food, $30 on raw bones, a $20 Antler & a couple snacks...I paid for the $15 bath & left. I will not be...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Earthwise last Monday, 2/26/24, to give our new rescue a bath. We were so impressed by the staff, including Kathryn who handles the grooming, that we asked to be put on her grooming list. Our dog is a minature poodle mix and Kathryn explained, while we were giving Winston a bath, that poodles need special care as far as grooming, drying and brushing. Earthwise called us on Sunday and said they had a grooming cancellation and they could get us in on Tuesday, 3/5/24. When we arrived we were greated and told the appox. pickup time and we explained what type of cut we would like. The results were GREAT even though Winston was a little bit of a pain for Kathryn and had to be put in "time out" to calm down. We were so pleased with the service we recieved that we have booked two additional appointments for him to return. We have had many groomers in the past with our former dog, Sophie the Westie, but Karhryn really went above and beyond to give our puppy mill rescue a Great cut without tramatizing the dog. My wife and I would highly recommend both Earthwise Pet Supply and Kathryn for your pet needs including supplies, bathing and full service grooming.
Went to Earthwise again to have Kathrine trim our Min Poodle, Winston, and he looks great!! Easy to make appointments for Grooming and the store is well stocked for any other items you might want to spoil your...
