This place is incredible! Classic, old-school movies played in a vintage theater from the Art Deco Era. $10 per person/ticket, no online purchase options. You have to buy tickets in person. If it's a popular night, they will sell out fast. We got in 15-20 minutes early for the showing of "Trick 'r Treat." It wasn't sold out, but it was pretty full.

Getting anything at the concessions took a long time because they only have 2 ppl running it, serving 150+ patrons. Despite the wait, it's worth it. The staff is so friendly and cool. They did start the movie 30(?) minutes late to start the costume contest and handing out free candy because of the Halloween season.

The seats are medium/smaller in size, so if you are a bigger person, it might be uncomfortable. The seats were comfy enough for me, but one of the dudes behind me had to get up to use one of the folding chairs in the special seating area, so there are options.

I would highly suggest going to this venue, it's a much better experience than any other theater I've been to. The audience will audibly react to what's going on in a way that makes you feel like you are part of the Mystery Science Theatre gang. Try this place at least once, you'll have a...

The Historic Blue Mouse Theatre is a Tacoma treasure. The neon sign out front with the blue mouse is actually one of Dale Chihully's early works with neon. They typically run a movie for a week from Friday-Thursday at 7pm and weekend matinees usually at 3:45 or 4:00 as well as the evening 7pm. Some movies do get a two week run. Monday andTuesday evenings plus weekend matinees are only $4. Regular price is only $6 and $5 for under 16. The 2nd & 4th Saturdays don on your Rocky Horror Picture Show attire and do the time warp! Only $6, and cheap prop bags are for sale. Participation is highly encouraged! Doors at 11pm, pre-show at 11:30, and movie at midnight. The 3rd Friday brings Friday Night Frights. They show a cult classic horror movie, and have a fun trivia round before the show with prizes. The Blue Mouse is also available to rent. There are a few parking spots out front, but it's street parking for the rest, so plan a little extra time for parking. #LetsGuide...

The best theatre around!

You have to come here and enjoy a movie old-school style. This place rocks new movies and throwbacks with theme nights happening all the time and even live entertainment with unique twists to make your movie experience fun.

Whether you want to catch a Friday Night Fright, a Wednesday deal, Rocky Horror Show, or a new release, they have it.

The staff is what makes this the best, led by Mama Sue herself, a Tacoma legend!

They've got movie theater popcorn, of course, snacks, candy, and even beer, cider and other beverage choices.

You can even rent the place out for private parties and events.

This is where I am excited to host my Own Your Awkward Talks twice a year where I coach people to share their message on stage. Sue is a pleasure to work with and thinks of everything when it comes to making sure my event needs are met. I've also held my one man show here as well, Those Awkward One Drive Stands.

It's always fun at the Blue Mouse...

I have wanted to visit this theater for about 50 years. Before now, they were showing something I had already seen. This is a cool neighborhood theater most places have lost. I remember the Blue Mouse Theater in downtown Seattle. The fun begins before you even enter. Look up at the cool neon mice chasing along the marquee. Prices are reasonable, and the selection is great. I was amazed at how detailed the digital projection was. The sound was spot on. Unlike the mall, the people here care about the way the movie is presented. The seats might not be super plush or recline, but they were comfortable for me. The service was friendly. I will return.
