Megs & Mo Upscale Resale - a consignment shop — Local services in Tacoma

Was going to purchase a very pretty vintage blouse today, but the lady who owns the shop (?) Or prices at the shop had dagger eyes at me and followed me to the back of the shop, stared some more with grimace and judgment, stared some more while I looked in the mirror with the blouse, and then was very Kurt and snoot with me when I asked about the upcoming proctor market sale ( I noticed she had been staring at me so I figured I would break the ice and ask her a question since she was judging me so much. ) I have lived in the proctor neighborhood for 15 years, and I work in consignment vintage. I don't steal and I am not some young Gen z brat that wasn't about to buy anything. But she kinda ruined it for me. I put the blouse away and walked out. Found something better at goodwill...

I wanted to love this consignment shop and even traveled all the way from Port Orchard to visit Megs and Mo. Unfortunately, I was sold an item with staining around the neck. Mistakes happen, no big deal. I did not wear the item and left all tags attached. When I made the trip back to return the item, I was verbally accosted by the staff. I would have been comfortable being calmly told that they wouldn’t take the item back, but instead, I faced raised voices and a very unpleasant experience. I stayed calm and kind throughout the encounter, and although my money was eventually returned, it came with a raised voice lecture that left both me and my partner feeling extremely uneasy.

Sadly, I'm warning my friends and family to procede with caution or avoid this...

The last few times I’ve went maybe 6 months apart, I’ve found nothing. I used to really like to go in and browse/buy. The owner and staff used to be so friendly, the current staff I met today brunettes in her 20’s perhaps, didn’t speak to us when we entered the store. I spoke to her, she didn’t respond with a hello- just kept sitting behind the counter. We walked around, the selection of everything, seems much less upscale- no where near as well merchandised as things were in the past. This shop seems to have a lot of low marks recently, it used to be a great place with good merchandise to stop peruse. Nothing about today’s visit makes me want to come back. I don’t know if ownership or management has changed, something has changed and it sadly isn’t...
