Spencer's — Local services in Tacoma

I like Spencers stores for the variety of merchandise they offer despite the quality being hit or miss.

What I didn't appreciate at this location, was being asked if I needed any help at least 5 times by 4 different employees. Three of those times were in the span of my first 5-10 min in the store. I'm an adult and can look around the store myself, if I need something I'll ask. The most irritating "customer service" I received was when the 4th employee, a white woman in her early forties with brownish hair, circled myself and the rack that I standing next to, making eye contact with me for 2 seconds and then staring heavily at the 2 pairs of glasses in my hands as she finished walking around me. Not even 5 min later, with myself standing in nearly the same spot, still reviewing the merchandise on the back wall, SHE DOES THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN. Blatantly staring at my hands to make sure the glasses were still there. I understand there is a lot of theft at the mall, I've worked loss prevention before, and I also understand that unintentionally having an open bag on my arm is suspicious, but dang... maybe instead of circling like a vulture with accusing eyes you ask if I'd like to have y'all hang onto them at the counter or literally...

I love Spencer’s, always been one of my favorite shops. Though I got my nose pierced last year, waited a year to buy new rings so of course I came to Spencer’s. I bought such pretty ones and I started to wear a new one. It was a sun with a diamond-like stone in the middle and I was obsessed with it. I wore it for about two weeks maybe, then it started basically deteriorating. It turned my nose green a few times and I saw that when I was cleaning the piercing but never thought much about it. Then I checked again a couple days later and the bottom part of the sun was basically crumbling off and turning green, it ended up ripping/peeling a chunk of my piercing hole off on the top. I never remember feeling it, but now it bleeds every now and then. The bottom half of the piercing was in the L shape, that as well started to change colors. I was just In this store less than 2 hours ago (Monday August 13 around 5:30 pm) and I was shopping for jars I was engaged in conversation with managers and workers thinking they were helping me with deals but they were stalling me so they could call security on me for doing nothing! But Browsing and shopping I believe it was because of the color of my skin(I’m a young black female) and I’m very disgusted by their behavior the only one who was nice and truly respectful was the guy who checked me out with the gages in his ears he was the only one who was genuinely nice and based on the horrible customer service I may be seeking legal help. They called security on me as if I was trying to steal when I clearly was shopping for 15+ minutes in the same area I looked the managers In their faces and was respectful I’m just so shocked !
