The owners of this supermarket, especially the male owner, have no idea how to respect customers. The female owner is slightly better, but they both donāt know how to run a business or make customers feel valued and respected. The male owner gives off the vibe that he's judging and watching customers. His expression is full of disdain and dissatisfaction.
Let me share my experience: I bought a small amount of items, and normally they provide a detailed receipt with each item listed. But this time, the male owner only gave me a receipt showing the total price. I asked for the detailed receipt, and he said it was in the bag. When I told him that wasnāt it and that he only gave me the total, he dismissively said, "You only bought a few items, what's the point?" I felt completely disrespected. I told him that regardless of how many items I buy, I should get a detailed receipt. He reluctantly gave me one, but not even once did he look at me.
After reading other reviews about this store, I completely agree with those who recommend Lynn's, another supermarket in town. The experience there is far betterāevery time I walk in, the owners and staff greet us warmly and treat us with patience and respect. They are kind people. But at Nihao Market, communication is a major issue. The male owner acts like heās always angry at you and responds rudely if you have any questions or concerns. I swear I will never go back to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI lived in Shanghai, China for nine years. Trust me, this place is the real deal and sells all the good stuff. It's way better than that bigger Asian Market by Popeyes. They have 1000 yr old egg, stinky tofu, the good vinegar and soy sauce, most of the special veggies. Fruit is not as extensive; I doubt they get yangmei, mangosteen, durian, purple dragonfruit level stuff here. This place is so real it even has a surly Ayi watching CCTV that will rush you out the door starting 15 minutes before closing. They probably would even play Kenny G Going Home if it was a little bigger of a place. No Tsingdao, I didn't look to see if they have the good Chinese cigarettes since I smoke cigars. They have white rabbit but not sure about the plum candy. Next time I go, I'll look to see if they have green bean popcicles. Ooo, I wonder if they have huangjiu... if they don't, imma see if the boss can hook it up, maybe the good clay pot kind. They have the proper utensils and hotpot gear. BTW, single Chinese women are welcome to comment on my review, especially if you love kids! Thanks! ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in search of a good Asian Market. This place fits all my needs for Korean ingredients, hard to find cuts of meat, seafood. Great selection of dry goods like rice, noodles and seasonings. There prices are lower then any supermarkets and quality is superior to Publix, Whole Foods and the others. Only place I've found bean sprouts that aren't brown and gross. I'd suggest this place to anyone that is in need of Asian ingredients from many types. Cuts of meat most people have only ever seen on TV. The staff was amazing, I was asked by 3 employees if I needed help. I bought all there napa cabbage today " Sorry". It's such good quality! So I increased the amount of Kimchi being made tomorrow š. Thank you to the owners and anyone that works there. I haven't found a market like this in Tallahassee since I was in Baltimore, MD last...
