Small franchise opening in Tallahassee. Has some good ideas in a heavy burger, pizza, texmex town. I've been twice now, once during the soft opening and after officially opening (8 days between visits). Durning both visits, staff was friendly and attentive. Establishment was clean and had a modern steel kitchen feel. Everything is assembly line like a Subway, pick your meat, number of patties, premium toppings, sides and drink. The burgers are decent, toasted buns and toppings we're good, they were fresh the first time, but looks old and maybe in properly stored the second time. Lettuce was browning and limp, tomatoes were becoming translucent. Mayo looked a little old or warm and other sauces were starting to get a film from being out or not chilled properly. For being a build your own burger, the premium price for a burger and fries could be a little better taken care of and even more prepared. $3.75 for 5 onion rings? $8 for a single patty with cheese, free toppings. $4.25 for a combo (drink and fries)? Gourmet meal price but frozen fries and onion rings. Rotate your veggies and consider fresh fries. You can't charge $12-16 a meal for frozen and less than fresh. Getting 1-2oz for fries or onion rings at $3+ isn't fair when their frozen. $.50 for cheese, $2 for bacon. Maybe consider striking a deal with Lucky's for fresh produce and hearty homemade bacon. The heat from the grill is also rough, it was bad with pita pit, and it's still a problem with Relish. I hope you can make improvements and set a better path than making shortcuts, we already have that with fast food restaurants (Wendy's, Burger King,...
Read moreI love relish burger but last night my experience have me rethinking my love for them. You know when your really craving for something and you can’t wait to sink your teeth into it. That was me and my wife last night. Once I entered all I started thinking was this is why I choose the drive through at times. If you go through the drive you don’t see what is actually going on inside and you will enjoy your meal. Last night the cook beared was longer than my hair no net and his arm was full of hair. The girl that was taking our order had a bull ring in her nose that was making her nose red and it look unappealing. She was wearing gloves and did everything with them on including scratching her head, picking up boxes of fries and filling the fry basket and grabbing buns for the sandwich, digging in the lettuce just everything with the SAME GLOVES !!!!!! . No customer service she did not interact with me at all except by rushing me to choose what toppings I wanted on my burger. I watched her with all the customers no interaction at all just straight forward but with the cook they were bumping elbows whispering in each other ears smiling and talking. The whole experience just turned me off completely!!!!!!! Yes I tried to eat the burger thinking when I go through a drive through it’s probably worse. My mind said no you can’t so I threw it away. But sorry relish no more you lost...
Read moreService and food were great. One problem, while dining I noticed they offered an Impossible Burger which peaked my interest. I was familiar with the Burger King Impossible Burger so I asked was this the same. The young lady answered, "yes, BUT unlike BK, whose burger was cross contaminated due to being prepared the same way their beef patty is. Unlike the Relish Impossible burger which is separated by a thin sliver of an aluminum barrier from the other portion of the grill where the beef patties are cooked. Hmmm, now, one thing I've always had a problem with is one insulting my intelligence. One of the beauties of dining here and other establishments is that you can watch as your food is being prepared; problem is that I've also watched as the wonderful juices and spits and splatters of the beef patties spill over that little"barrier of sorts" to that perfectly organic meatless cooking surface! Not mention watching the cook who is a Damn good one cleans her grill by scraping away debris as she toils away and pushed it to the back and across the "great" area. Ummm, and used the same spatula to cook the meatless patty. All of that said, I'm guessing BK did not or cannot patent the name Impossible Burger which is truly what peaked my interest in the first place. Idk...I guess I'm just not a fan of being fed BS along with my very meaty OR...
