This place is pretty average. Their system where you insert a quarter into a cart to get one and then returning your cart to get your quarter back is a good system...Other than that the cashiers come off more than lazy to me. THEY SIT DOWN while they're ringing you up THE ENTIRE TIME! What kind of service is that?! And then ALL they're concerned about is the speed of how fast they check you out. If you have a question they rush you. I really don't see the customer service here. The prices are affordable and that's about it. You have to pay for your bags or everything will just be tossed into your shopping cart. Honestly, I only come here when it's a last resort because I truly dislike my experience every time I shop here.
July 7 2018 In addition to the post before, this is yet another disappointing review. As to why I was even here again, is the expression 'tight on money. As I'm walking in I see an older woman in an electric wheelchair stopped in the middle of the entrance and she's crying with a bloodied hand. She's telling a woman that stopped that she cut her hand on the cart. As the other woman goes to get help I watch and the supervisor she gets looks less than surprised and almost annoyed that this is now Aldis problem. A cashier said that she had a bandage for this poor woman. I'm thinking 'this lady needs medical care right now and you guys would know the extent of her injury if you weren't all sitting down ringing up groceries. I was so appalled that I just left. I really hope that this woman received the proper care she needed and was given a 50% of her entire bill if she bought anything there. As for me, Aldis you're really not getting anymore of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey have great prices and now carry a lot of brand name food at cheaper prices, if only a little bit cheaper, than most other stores. I'm not stuck on buying brand name usually, but I do have just a few products that I will only buy brand name on, like Gain Laundry Detergent (no, Aldi's doesn't carry it, it was just an example.) So, i think its awesome to now have a choice. There are a few things I don't buy there just because they weren't big enough to serve my family and I don't have the kitchen cabinet space to buy a lot more of one thing for a few dinners. That's usually the side item type boxed meals. But I assure everything else is a huge deal so far! I now get all my ground turkey and pork there (we don't eat a lot of red meat) the produce is a great bargain, same with the lunch meats and hard sliced cheese plus Bleu cheese, creamy Havarti and feta. Their chunky style soups are delicious! I was a bit leery about the dairy products but I have no idea why! They are great too! And on my last visit I was elated to see 2 brand new electric carts for the disabled.
I wasn't so impressed with some of the people hanging out in the parking lot, milling around and looking suspicious. Between Aldi's, DD'S and Shell, one would think they'd have these people chased off by now. But nope, so I knocked one star off. I don't feel it's fair that I feel the need to take a male family member with me for my own safety being that I'm disabled and would have a hard time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI keep hearing great things about Aldi, so I had to check it out and, frankly, I don't get it. They are supposed to be related to Trader Joe's but you'd never know from looking.
I don't know if other locations are this small, or not, but there didn't seem to be much here. It seemed unorganized and rather dumpy. I get that it's supposed to be a discount store, but that doesn't mean it can't look nice.
As far as the "discount" part of it, that's a bit questionable. While there were a few things with better than average prices, like $1.50/lb. for spiral cut ham, most things were pretty average in price and some were high. The almond milk there was $.50 more per half gallon than it is at Target, so you've got to know your prices.
We looked at produce, but it wasn't in very good condition. The meat selection was tiny, and most fresh foods really needed to be replenished. There was a small area of alcoholic beverages, but we didn't see anything that was really a good deal there.
We found a few things that we were going to get, but after seeing the number of people in the lines and how slowly they were moving, we just put them back and went somewhere else.
While I may try another location, just to see if this one is a fluke, I'll never go back to...
