Employees have been great here but the owner, or whoever responds to these reviews, has completely turned me off of ever spending any more money here.
I've never seen someone respond with such sarcasm and vitriol to customer complaints. It's especially petty considering you can't respond back to owner responses here, so with that safety in mind they puff up their chest and respond like a 16 year old. Honestly, go look at how the owner responds to justified complaints, it will give you a good laugh for the day.
I've never seen such pompous, ludicrous business practices from someone whose business will cease to exist once the hype of labubus and blind boxes dies down. Would highly recommend taking an extra 2 minutes and driving down to Tates, or taking 5 minutes and researching which online retailers sell legitimate labubus instead of spending your money here.
Since the owner loves to explain their business practices, explain this one:
Why do you sell Sonny Angels for $45 when Tates just down the road sells them for $12?
Tates has to pay the same shipping and import/export fees you do, so why is there such a price difference?
I saw another post that someone won an Ichiban prize but was told that they couldn't find the prize and was asked to play again. Ichiban Kuji takes their licensing extremely seriously, and I'm sure they'd love to hear about that story!
Tates is a giant store that doesn't have their employees eyeing customers from the moment they walk in to the moment they walk out and they seem to be doing exponentially better than Cyren, maybe the owner should re-consider how they demand their employees treat customers.
Overall, I would avoid this store like the plague. Like I said, the employees have always been kind, but the owner acts like a child when they receive legitimate criticism, so if you ever have a problem here your issue won't be resolved.
Tates is a 2 minute drive down the road and they have the capability, capital, and wherewithal as business owners to resolve customer complaints, and not go off on rants that I guarantee the owner would never, EVER say to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been wanting to write a review for a while but this last shopping experience took the cake. First of all, with all the money Iāve spent at this place, youād think theyād be a little more considerate of their customer base if they receive a broken blind box. This is the second blind box Iāve received that has ended up in pieces upon opening. I understand I take the risk with blind boxes, but stores should also take an exchange policy into consideration because of this issue. Not allowing returns or exchanges for broken blind boxes is ridiculous. I asked if I could exchange my broken blind box for something of equal value and was immediately turned down. Not even an āIām sorry this happened.ā The girl at the desk offered to glue it. Why go through all the trouble when you could just allow an exchange for something of equal value??? I saw another review say they got full store credit. Why didnāt I? On top of that, when this store gets shipments of Labubuās in, there is no sale limit. They allow people to buy WHOLE CASES upon release at their store. How is that a fair system to all your other customers? Any ethical business, like Tateās for example, would have a purchase limit. Itās so shitty to allow 1-2 people to buy up your entire stock. It gives off such a strong vibe of greed. Not to mention they stare at you like hawks the entire time you shop here. Safe to say myself and my two siblings wonāt be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, the store is quite large compared to the other anime stores around the location. The variety of items- scale figures, prize figures, mini figures, keychains, plushes, they got anything and everything you could possibly want or need as an anime/sanrio/japanese culture fan. The experience was nearly perfect except for the fact that my mother was disrespected. My mother is a smoker, and because of this, she is known to have problems breathing, and coughs without warning. She had left the store to get her bearings and the store workers proceeded to spray the entire store down. When she attempted to reenter, the workers had told her that they made them uncomfortable. She then decided to leave the store, and They wiped down the card scanners and put on masks specifically for my mother. It grew quiet and me and my family did not know how to react. We got the items we desired but I feel like if there was an issue with coughing and Covid, they would have told us to mask up and or had it present on their doors. If you want to visit this store, make sure you keep this in mind just in case anyone in your family has breathing problems. I'm conflicted on whether I want to return but I recommend experiencing it for yourself...
