La Antioqueña Café & Restaurant — Restaurant in Tamarac

This is the second time I send my wife to buy at this place & the lady who attended her gave her whatever she wanted but what my wife asked for. Mi wife likes the empanadas from this place ( because she likes "potatoes empanadas") I don't really care for their food I prefer El Balcon de las Americas but since she goes there I ask her to bring me a Mondongo with a side of white rice, I texted to her what I wanted because she doesn't speak Spanish and isn't familiar with the colombian food. She showed the text to the lady at the counter (in Spanish) and the lady gave her a terrible sancocho with a couple of undesirable verdura chunks in it, in a second styrofoam container white rice two yellow plantains & a pice of a back portion of a chicken with a weird sauce like it was part of some kind of a stew, and in a third small styrofoam container a salad. Every time she goes there they take advantage of her becase she doesn't speak Spanish but today was the last drop that overflow the cup, we are taking our business somewhere else, we won't patronize this undesirable establishment anymore & we will encourage others to...

It's a hidden bakery/restaurant in Tamarac, on University Dr. in a busy strip mall between Ross & a dollar store. Once you enter you will see the place opens up, the bakery at your right with tables to your left. And you can see in the back the rest of the tables for dining. I've ordered the chicken fillet with a creamy mushroom sauce & french fries on two occasions. I love dipping my fries in the sauce. The lunch special comes with added options, I picked chicken soup. Their passion fruit juice in milk base is so yummy & juices are served in a personal mini jug that you will end up taking some home with you. La Antioqueña truly has the added benefit of its bakery for you to enjoy breakfast with a hot chocolate or café con leche & your choice of Colombian pastery. I've enjoyed visiting here many times & I would recommend it to anyone. Please be considerate of your servers always, think ahead what you need in order to enjoy your meal, i.e. lemons, seasonings, spices, extra napkins, water, ect. and try asking for them once so they don't make extra trips to your table. Primera vez en el lugar y mi experiencia no fue para nada buena. Llegue al lugar super contenta con mi familia, ordenamos empanadas de appetizers, mmm encontre un pelo en una de las empanadas, 🤔 okay. Le deje saber a la mesera, la cual se la llevo como si nada y dijo que la cambiaria, con tremenda mala actitud, mi empanada nunca llego, le pedi que la cambiara por una arepa, la cual cobro aparte de la empanada de pelo, again, la empanada con pelo y la sin pelos jamas llego 🤔 y me la cobraron. Al ordenar la comida yo pedi un churrasco y los demas pidieron carne asada, la carne que yo recibi no era para nada el corte y no estaba mala pero tenia una cantidad de pellejo que dios mio 🤦🏻‍♀️.... No dije nada solo queria la cuenta e irme. Al momento de recibir la cuenta, mi sorpresa al ver que la carne asada descrita en el menu a $13 dolares y algo me la cobraron a $18 🤷🏻‍♀️ uffff sorpresaaa!!! Haha y la mesera lo unico que nos dijo fue que era por que habiamos pedido la carne suave en lugar de la dura🤦🏻‍♀️ hahahah, que cuando ella pregunta quiere la carne dura o suave?!" First time in the place and my experience was not good at all. I came to the place super happy with my family, we ordered appetizer patties, mmm I found a hair in one of the empanadas, 🤔 okay. I let the waitress know, who took her as if nothing and said that she would change it, with tremendous bad attitude, my pie never arrived, I asked her to change it for an arepa, which she charged apart from the hair pie, again, the pie with hair and the hairless never came 🤔 and they charged me for both. When ordering the food I ordered a steak and the others asked for roast beef, the meat I received was not the cut at all and it was not bad but I had an amount of skin that my God 🤦🏻‍♀️ .... I said nothing I just wanted the bill and leave. At the time of received the bill, my surprise to see that the roast described on the menu at $ 13 dollars and something, was charged to me at $ 18 🤷🏻‍♀️ uffff surprise !!! Haha and the waitress the only thing she told us was that it was because we had ordered the soft meat instead of the hard one🤦🏻‍♀️ hahahah, that when she asks, do you want the hard or soft meat ?!
