What doesn't look like much from the outside is a humble, hard-working, family-owned and operated business on the inside. My husband and I stopped in here midday to grab some treats as we were exploring our new neighborhood. Since it was the middle of the day, the selection in the already small shop was slim, but the woman behind the counter was sweet and made what turned out to be some solid recommendations.
Our two picks were both very decent. The empanada was the kind of fried goodness that would speckle a brown bag in the mere minutes it took to get from the counter to our car parked outside. With a crunchy exterior and meaty inside, this was the perfect snack. We also took a chance on a round pastry that turned out to be a delicious savory sort of bread. While neither blew our minds, we were charmed by the small store and its eager workers.
The store is small and somewhat dim, with no seating available. All breads and cakes seem to be made fresh each morning. This is a sweet neighborhood spot - worth checking out if you're in the area and in the mood...

I saw bags of "pan de bono" for take away and various breads and lots of sweets. We were in the mood for a few pasteries so I got a strawberry pastery, an almond croissant and a cinnemon bun.
