took our kids to see the movie Sing we had 4 in our party we purchased the tickets got in line for snacks had to wait as always when we walked into the theater there were no seats except the very front row and only a few of them so we would have had to sit away from each other. we decided not to watch the movie so we returned to the ticket both and the heavy set guy with red hair and nasty beard was there we explained to him the theater had no seats except the front row and there wasn't enough for us to sit together so we wanted a refund he had a major problem with that and said come back at the 7:00 pm show but that showing had a higher cost for the tickets so my wife asked if he would honor the same price we had just paid because the were no seats he said NO because there were seats and we just didn't want to sit in them lol I replied but we would like to sit together he said it wasn't his problem WOW, this is why I always go to Bakersfield to see a movie. Iām not typically the type to go and leave reviews, but I thought this was worthy of bringing to attention. I can also recognize that people have bad days, I know I have my own. However, when I went in with a few friends of mine, there was a man with black hair at the counter who was notably rude. It was a rated R movie, for which we anticipated an age restriction. When asked about it, we were told we would need to provide ID. No problem, we were very understanding. I attempted to ask a question, in which he interrupted me. When I tried to ask again, he cut me off for the second time, saying he wouldnāt sell us tickets. I would get it if it were rushed, or if there was a line behind us or something along those lines, but this wasnāt the case. We do have way to prove our name, birthdays, and picture IDās for the R rated movie, but after being shut down and essentially ignored, we decided that maybe we would try for a different day with a more patient employee. Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I love having this little theater in town! Chris at the ticket booth has saved me money on multiple occasions. One time I pre-purchased tickets online with a credit card because they lack the capability to accept the discount card online. When I arrived at the ticket booth Chris (without me even thinking to ask) refunded my credit card and charged my discount card (I think saving me 15-20%). I hope that people will be patient with some of the limitations this little theater faces having a relatively small population to draw their clientele from. Admittedly, there are some things that could be improved, but I think they are doing a fine job considering the small budget Iām assuming they have to work with. Hopefully our community will continue to support this little theater. Maybe buy a few treats at the theater instead of sneaking everything in. If Iām not mistaken, movie theaters have to pay steep royalties to the film industry for the rights to show the films and rely on concessions sells for most of their profits.
