Cobblestone Village is the name of a shopping mall at the corner of Mclintock Drive and Warner Road but the original Cobblestone Village is a prehistoric Hohokam village which is characteristic of an American Indian culture of the central and Southern deserts of Arizona about a.d. 450 -1450 or the ancient inhabitants of the Pueblo ruins. The anthropologist J.W. Fawkes calls them "those who are gone". Cobblestones are naturally rounded stones and a building material based on cobble - sized stone used for pavement of roads, streets and also buildings. For example New York State began to change to cobblestone during 17th century and even though it may sound romantic today it is just because there is a history behind it. They have Bashas supermarket to get your grocery shopping done, a Starbucks to get your caffeine fix, salons, etc. A perk is there plenty of parking, including even shaded parking for those who are going to Bashas. The times I've come to this plaza, it's always been calm and never too crowded which I really welcome with open arms. Lastly, this place is easy to spot from the streets. No complaints....
