Very very disappointed with heb today. I went around 2:45 I was in a hurry just getting a few things very quickly I had to pick up my daughter from school. I went in with my baby in his carseat grabbed a cart got my groceries and went to go pay. It was about $34 worth of groceries and I paid with wic and cash. My baby was crying so I already had people looking at me, I got my receipt and was headed out the door In hurry. Well as soon as I am about to head out the doors my cart locks up. My babys head just went back and forth harshly because I was walking fast and that startled him so he started crying even more. At the same time people are going in and out a nice lady was watching me struggle with the cart who her and i thought the wheels were stuck. At the same time I am blocking people from coming in and out and my baby is crying. Then a member from heb (has to be a manager of some sort) comes up to me out of no where and ask me what register did I check out from. Of course I don't even know it wasn't self check out or a 15 or less. Then ask me for my receipt. Mind u I only have like 4 bags. Checks my receipt and tells me oh ok you were probly not enuff time at check out and the sensor didn't pick up the signal when u left. I paid with wic and cash it took more than a minute to pay so I don't get it. Then she presses a button and my cart starts rolling just perfectly fine. GUYSSS I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HUMILIATED IN MY LIFE!! All this hapend while I was blocking part of the entrance and my baby was crying . I was not looking my best at all I have kids toddler and baby . Had an appointment with my son and therapy with my daughter so I woke up and put on whatever I found first i didn't do my hair I was looking a mess. I'm sure that and being in a hurry targeted me as a posible shoplifter. I didn't have a diaper bag not even a purse. I understand that there's alot if shop lifting going on but I had my items bagged also I paid with a clerk. I called corporate and was told it was a "new system" and that a new policy to check receipts. No one else's carts stopped and no one elses receipts were checked. Then when I spoke to someone higher I was told it must have been a malfunction of the cart that it will happen again with same cart. If it was that why didn't they take my cart so that it was fixed. And I thought it was a new system. So I'm being told different storys. I was given a $25.00 egift for the inconvenience. But that humiliation isn't worth $25 they can keep that. I will probably be going to other stores from now on I go to heb at least 2 times a week and have never seen that happen to anybody or anyone get there receipt checked. I am truly...
Read moreThis grocery store is very congested to get into because of the high traffic in Market Place. Once you are inside you take your time. There are always a lot of people shopping. This store has more of a variety of product to select from and much better than the one on West Adams. A variety of meats is what I like and their staff is there to help. All the staff at this store are friendly and helpful. If you're on the go and needing good fresh fish,🤗. You will find some of the best Sushi in the area right here at HEB. Yummy, yummy. 👍👍👍. 10 Mar, '22, Our HEB is and always will be crowded. But today everyone was very courteous to one another😃. Shelves were stocked and a variety of foods were available. Staff was very friendly too. The only thing I didn't like were the higher prices due to the inflation 😫. Update: August 3rd, 2022: This store is always crowded. Does not make a difference when you go. But it's always clean and well stocked. Of course prices are higher than before but you can find all you need. Staff everywhere stocking continuously to better serve you. Very friendly staff but watch out for some rude customers shopping. Still a 5 ⭐ grocery store. 👍👍 Update: 19 June, 2023. All is well at this store. No matter what time of day it is, always busy. Watch your sales plus in store sales. Great buys are there. Update: 29 August, 2023. This is my local standby. Smaller than the Plus stores but if you don't want to leave Temple, then this is the place to go. Staff always very respectful and helpful. If in Temple, I highly recommend this grocery store. Read moreI placed an order last night for delivery between 9-10pm. I received updates on my phone until about 10pm and then my order never showed up. I called at 11pm and was told by Paul that nothing could be done and that I needed to call back in the morning. I asked if there was a manager I could speak to and Paul informed me that there was a grocery manager on duty but he wouldn't be able to help me and to just call back in the morning. Some time later in the night my husband found a message on HIS phone saying they decided not to deliver and that they would deliver this morning at 0845. I'm not sure why they sent message updates to my phone (the correct phone number on the account), but then called my husband's phone which is not on the account. By about 0830 I hadn't received any text updates and so I called per Paul. I got Angela and as soon as I explained the situation, she immediately argued with me that they called the number on the account. I told her that his number is not on the account and I received all the updates at my phone number which is the correct number, listed on the account, so I don't know why the phone message was left on my husband's phone. She very ingenuously apologized. I asked when I would receive my delivery and was told she could reschedule it for me, so I told her the phone message said it would be delivered around 0845. She said that she could not get it delivered by then. She could call the delivery team and they could be there at the store in 15-20 min., but it wouldn't be to my house until later...
So 2 stars for all that. Also, both people I spoke with are lacking in customer service skills. Angela was rude and both were argumentive. This is the worst experience yet with the delivery service. Another reason for 2 stars is that I am a night shift nurse and so I schedule for a reason. My delivery/time might not be important to you, but it is to me. Don't offer the delivery time if you can't deliver and then communicate better with your customers when there is a problem. I expect more from HEB and I am disappointed....and sleepy, sitting here waiting for my order to arrive, whenever that might be...
The delivery person just texted me asking if he or she is supposed to park at curbside or go into the store. I don't know. Unbelievable...get your act...
