I've stayed at this hotel numerous times I've just recently noticed not so clean practices for instance bugs inside light fixtures, dust collected on lamps, countertops, rusting of air vents but what has recently the icing on the cake; I stayed in room 112 on 1/8/2025 and I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and while I looked up there was a massive roach in the bathtub, with that being said it's the middle of the night I didn't have something to kill it with so my instinct was to call the front desk I called about 4 times at 12:40 and with no avail. I got my sneakers on and walked to the front desk waited for her to check in some new guests and explained to her the situation she proceeded to tell me that the hotel room was sold out and that what she could do is call housekeeping and go check it out. I went to back to my room and the front desk and the 3 housekeepers came in and took trash out as well as switch the towels out they asked me where did it go I explained to them that I had no idea as I needed my glasses to see I asked if they had a problem with critters they explained no it's that the roaches come inside because it's cold outside and they are looking for shelter. They left and the front desk gave me a call and explained that I could change to room 1106 if I wanted to I explained it was 1:20 am I wasn't going to do that however I could once I got back from the office the following day. I go back to the front desk and explained the situation to Rachel and she explained to me that they sprayed the room and there was no one there but that they are sold out and that the room that was offered to me is no longer available. She explained to me that they cleaned it up and that everything was fine I explained to her I was not comfortable staying in that room and that if they didn't catch the roach or kill it, I was nervous of staying there as I don't want it crawling on me in the middle of the night. She explained she would send in the housekeeper to double check but she couldn't move me because they are sold out she proceeded to ask me if I knew where the roach went if I took pictures implying that I was lying or making up a story I proceeded to explain I didn't see where it went because I needed my glasses to see by the time I made it back to the bathroom I didn't known where it went. She explained I would be in the room or what would she like for her to do for me. I explained I don't know as I have never been in this situation she explained she could take some money off of the room rate while I explained to her Financials aren't the issue the issue is the roaches and bugs there is, I explained so my onlu option is to check out and find another hotel as she's not willing to switch me she explained that they were sold out and that if I choose to leave it would be my choice. The housekeeper went into the room checked the room found not one but 2 dead roaches in the bathroom and she attempted to lie however I was looking at the 2 roaches and she couldn't hide it she said to me well they are dead I'm looking for a live one, and actually found the one from last night 1/8/2025. I went back to the front desk and explained that she found not one not 2 but 3 roaches, to which Rachel said you can pack your stuff and come back to the front while being "sold out" she managed to find a vacant room in 5 minutes. My frustration comes from the implications of the story I was telling was a lie and the fact that she told me they cleaned the room when it's very clear and evident that housekeeping or maintenance hadn't stepped foot in the room. Not to mention to say that this housekeeping team is mediocre at best. Needless to say this will be last stay at this particular Hilton location the hotel across them is clean and their sheets don't smell like they have been sitting in a closet full of moths, not to mention the pillows are so old that they are little cotton balls inside of them now they are not cotton filled they are so old they have reverted to being little...
Read moreFact, the employees did the best thing that they could do with what they were working with other then closing the hotel down.||Fact, 06/17/2024 ||My wife and I checked in at 1pm, this was the first mistake by the Management/Staff don't get me wrong I was very happy to be checked in early, ||Fact, we immediately went to the room upon opened the door we were greeted by a blast of ice cold air the room thermostat was set at 55 degrees and it was Cold, not to worry I know how to adjust a thermostat, I set it to heat and 73 degrees, we had some running around to do and came back 4hrs. Later it's now 5:05 pm plenty of time for the heater to work and warm up the room.||Fact, they have a very nice dinner menu and a little bar, so we decided that we would eat a nice dinner and maybe a glass of wine, we were immediately seated and greeted by the server, was given a 1 sheet of paper that had nothing but sandwiches, not the menu advertised, and she explained that the hotel had turned off the gas to the building that morning to make repairs so the kitchen was closed. Sat in the dinning room ordered Doordash to be delivered to our room and enjoyed a cold beer and then headed back to the room||Fact, upon entering the room it's still ice cold thermostat reads 59 degrees, now I'm not the only one upset remember the saying Happy Wife happy life, now we have a problem she just want to take a hot shower, well as you might have like myself figured it out, kitchen is closed because no gas heater in room doesn't work because of no gas, not to be let down by the shower as it didn't have hot water, I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man to check on the heat everything was set correctly and he had no idea what the problem was. I called back to the front desk requesting another room but by now it's 9pm I have a doctor's appointment across the street first thing in the morning so we suck it up trying to stay warm thru the night because the front desk said everything will be back to normal by 10pm. ||Fact, my alarm went off on time and I quickly go to the bathroom turn on the shower it's cold let it run for 20min and now it's colder. At this point I'm mad as I needed to shower before having surgery across the street. ||Fact, if one person at check in had notified us of the situation at the beginning of the check in, we would have had other options such as a different hotel, and now I find myself writing a review justifying a 1 STAR review. ||Fact attached are photos of Mold in the carpet and bottom of wall, from water leaking behind the shower thru the wall, air register hanging by 1 screw, lotion dispenser pulled away from wall. Seal to keep water in the shower not attached to anything, shower head spray either to the left or the right never facing you and it dribbles, in all honesty this is probably the worst hotel in Temple Texas. ||Fact, in the end we froze all night and took a near freezing shower.||Fact after much complaining we did receive the...
Read morePrior to booking my stay, I contacted the site to inquire about using my tax-exempt status. I was told I just needed to provide my tax-exempt card and complete a simple form. Upon arrival, that was not the situation, I was told I could not use this due to it being considered an occupational tax and not a sales tax. Friday (3/17) night my family went to the pool. The pool had dirty water, so much so that you could not see the bottom of the pool and there was mold around the stairs going into the pool. Saturday (3/19) on the way out for the afternoon (about 1230pm), I stopped by the front desk to ask for a "Room Refresh". I was told by the front desk that it was too late to ask for that and I should have asked for it the prior night. Keep in mind this was less than 24 hrs from check-in. I explained to the front desk (I believe his name was Tony or Troy) there was nothing posted that there was a cut-off time on when I could request this service. I explained to this gentleman that the lotion in the bathroom had dust and dried lotion all over it. The front desk then said to me "Well did you report this last night"? Which I felt was not very professional. I told the gentleman no I didn't report it, but I was now. He continued to tell me how next time I need to let them know upon check-in, and he said that he would do it this time and said that he would put my room down for a full-service refresh. Upon returning to my room later that evening, the beds had been made but the lotion container was still dirty and there was trash in my ice container, which wasn't there prior. I didn't say anything, bc what was the point? There was a huge crack in the shower going up the wall. I had to sleep with my earbud on both nights to drown out the noises from other occupants running around and there was a humming noise coming from the air conditioning. I don't feel that this site held up the "Hilton" status quo and made a bad representation of the name "Hilton Gardens". I can guarantee that I will never stay at this...
