A treasure to be had in Terre Haute especially for this price point. I'm a fan of haunted attractions, last year I went to Indy Scream Park so it's the freshest point of comparison I can offer. Both were great, laid out differently and done differently. Indy Scream Park offered fast passes that cost 50 and I didn't have to wait in any lines. Shattered Nightmares cost 15 and I stood in line for about an hour and a half. A major plus of Shattered Nightmares was it wasn't a 2 hour drive there and another 2 hours back. As far as entertainment they both offer the same level of entertainment when it comes to the actual haunted attractions just done differently. Indy Scream Park offered multiple haunted attractions, some indoors and some outdoors, to walk through all their attractions it took roughly 45 minutes. Shattered Nightmares on the other hand is one main attraction which you're lead through with a tour guide. The tour guide aspect is something new to me but I did enjoy it. She added to the story and theme. It took us roughly 30 minutes to get through Shattered Nightmares. As far as props and actors both places have their fair share of good props and good actors as well as some others that could use some work. So while this review seems like a compare and contrast to a degree what I'm basically getting at is that you don't have to drive 2 hours because you don't think the local haunted house will be as good. Don't skip out on Shattered Nightmares it's a good time and well worth the price. If you get the chance, go to more than one haunted attraction. Seems like everywhere has their own...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWonderful experience! Very well done haunted house, I took 2 12-year olds. It was scary and fun (our heartbeats were still crazy about an hour afterwards) without being terrorizing or traumatizing. Prior to entering the haunted house, several of the staff members had worked the crowd in a fun and engaging way. And of course inside the house the actors were fantastic and on point! But here is the part that really impressed meāas a small business owner myself, I can recognize when something is truly a labor of love. As we exited, one of the staff members (maybe an owner) wanted to make sure to thank us for coming, and get feedback if we had enjoyed ourselves, etc. And he made sure that everyone (especially the kiddos) were leaving feeling upbeat and jazzed. Clearly, they are wanting to provide a great experience for everyone. This is definitely some thing they are doing for the love of Haunted Houses, and not just for money.
Several reviews have mentioned the long lines, but that is not really the venues fault. It is a seasonal gig! I appreciate that they do small groups, as that adds to the experience. We arrived at 6:30, and the doors opened at 7. In all we waited a little over an hour, which seemed reasonable and perfect to us. Most of the people in line around us had been for many years before, so that is a testament to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friends and I went to Shattered Nightmares a few weeks ago. Let me tell you, this haunt is worth whatever amount of time you have to wait to go inside even if itās raining or cold as hell. Once we got inside the actual haunt we were greeted with our tour guide. I donāt remember her name but I know she had curly pigtails. She was amazing throughout the whole haunt even when she ran away from us. The scares were out of this world. They scarers come out when you least expect them to from the weirdest places ever. My favorites are definitely the butcher and the dolly room. The clowns were also super cool. All and all, if youāre looking for an amazing haunt, I would recommend you went to Shattered Nightmares before you try anywhere else. Trust me itās so worth the wait and money!
Iāll be back for one of the abandoned nights as long as I donāt have to work late. You guys are doing amazing, and I can tell all the actors are passionate and proud of the work theyāre...
