I am extremely disappointed by the woodlands farmers market. And so is my family; I am very well involved in the woodlands community and wanted to become a vendor. As I thought it would be a good experience, whether or not I got into being a vendor. I was baffled to experience what I experienced today with The Grogans Mill Village Association Board; as none of the members introduced themselves, I believe I was primarily talking with Pat Goodpastor and Virginia Hill. These were very arrogant and rude individuals who didn’t care to understand the services my business provides. They didn’t take any interest in my application and began asking very strange questions not related to the process of becoming a vendor. They were more interested in how I was doing business more than anything. Ms Pat asked me for a free bag of compost at one point and then referred me to someone to do business with them, I don’t know why. As the rest of the board members watched the development of the events, not one member decided to neutralize the situation. I couldn’t help but notice this felt more like trying to get into “the cool kids club”, or “shark tank” but without the knowledgeable individuals. It was like a hand me down shark tank experience whereby they wanted to criticize your business. As if I was trying to sell the idea to them. It was very strange that they would ask me to fill out an application and then start asking defiant questions about how I do business. Completely ignoring the application. No protocol, no organization, it was all opinion based and they were driven by the way they were feeling that day. Very “cliquey” group who made it seem like if they didn’t like you personally they wouldn’t allow you to join. Honestly, I have never encountered such rudeness and despair in The Woodlands. I am beyond shocked at how these people are the “members or directors” of a farmers market that represents what George Mitchell represented. And I must say, the members of this particular does not represent the values and inclusivity of The Woodlands. It was very strange to come to a farmers market to become a vendor and they feel like they can give you business advice. I still do not know exactly how it all works. Do you have to know a certain group of people to enter the “club”? I wish there was someone we could talk to this about. But it was a horrible horrible experience. Very...
Read moreLots of booths and so many different things to taste and look at. They had an booth with foods and sauces from India. A Keto booth which sold out before we got there, to my disappointment. One with teas, a bread booth and I guarantee you I tried several of their samples. My favorite is the peanut butter and jelly bread. A booth of beautiful dresses and scarfs. Reasonably priced that have bird patterns. The woman took pics of birds and then somehow transferred them to fabric. One with Rosaries that are handmade and can be custom made to fit your specifications. A CBD/Delta 8 booth I want to go back and check out more thoroughly. (By the time we got to it after making the full circle we were just too hot to spend much time at it.) Will check it out first next time. There was one other booth I really want to revisit also; it has the most unique mixing of flavors for sauces, dips, jams, jellies and preserves. They have amaretto pecan peach preserves that sounds absolutely mouth watering. If you are in that area when they are open I really suggest you check it out, I'm positive you'll find something to take home. Just remember to take water with you, it is...
Read moreVery disappointing. I’ve been once. Not my cup of tea. A good friend of mine was trying to be a vendor for a zero waste program for The Woodlands.. I would think you guys would be on board with a program like this. Maybe you don't get how important composting is for rejuvenating the soil we are completely destroying the microbial life in our soil . Farmers markets should always be 100% organic and never use pesticides or petrochemicals. I don’t think you guys should be involved with a market like this. It’s your responsibility to educate people on these types of issues we are having with how we can bring back life in to our soil. Also, Microbial life In the Ocean like cyanobacteria and blue green algae actually produces oxygen we need. All microbes are the key to life. Sorry guys...
