Planet Fitness — Local services in Thornton Township

I frequent many different planet fitness gyms but this complaint is for the one specifically in Lansing, IL. First, 70% of their employees are rude. They do not greet or say goodbye to the majority of customers. Second, we are in a pandemic and the cleanliness is severely lacking. Trash and water bottles on the floors and throughout the gym. Most people are not wearing masks which really doesn't bother me too much because I myself am a clean person. But judging at the cleanliness of the gym, I'm not too sure about the cleanliness of many members considering they're throwing wrappers and paper towels on the floor. The locker rooms have trash around and dirt/dust all over the floors. I actually had gone two days in a row and the first night the bathrooms had no soap. I went back the next day nearly 24 hours later and still NO SOAP. Third, they let customers do whatever and I mean whatever they want. No one re-racks weights. There are weights ALL OVER the gym that are a potential hazard just lying in random places. 3 to 4 employees standing at the front while customers play their own music very loud and stand at the same piece of equipment conversing and not allowing anyone else to use anything. Very disappointing. I have to come here 2-3 times a week while my son has his practices but if things don't change I'll have to make a change which is super unfortunate because every other PF I visit goes above and beyond to keep the gym clean and the employees are super kind. From the look of the comments the owner responds with the same generic response but trust, I am not one to complain, but if I'm spending my money and risking my health, I'll complain to corporate, BBB and the health department every day until something is done because if it's not me, its only a matter of time before someone gets ill or hurt...

Ok so far. Really newer place. New style equipment. Cool treadmills and pull up gym thing aka 360. Friendly staff and work out people. Even have a personal trainer in evenings. They have special food days that is if they place the order. :(

People you got issues call into corp make your voice heard they don't read these. Takes minutes.

Place has no cleaning staff. (look at the pictures) Other members are complaining. Locker rooms floors are full of trash, employees sit around at the desk all the time in the evenings and night. Get off your dang phone and actually work. Three people to sit around really ? Windows and mirrors inside seem to never cleaned. You have look around to find towels to wipe the machines off as they are never replaced by staff. Hard to change in the locker rooms if the floors are nasty.

Forget if it rains and floors get wet inside. Staff wont mop it just just throw a card boardbox over the wetfloor mats. So it gets everywhere. just like the salt.

Really 24/7 unlike Hammond which is cleaned daily. Even Around the Clock is 24/7 next door. Oddly Google map shows the alley back door as the business it's in Walmart's lot if you get confused. Fyi Walamrt is open late.

Seen decent amount of others working out never wiping down equipment after use though. Other PF's I used never was an issue. Like them to maybe try a sign at the front desk...

Good afternoon. I just exited the new Planet Fitness that is in Lansing IL on Torrence Ave. I intended to view the facility and requested a visitor's pass to workout and get a feel for the place. The current receptionist was not at all welcoming. No smile or common courtesy in her speech. She demanded that I completely fill out a sheet(including my whole birthday) just to walk around to see if I did want to sign up. She rudely informed me that this was mandatory. Additionally, I know she has no control over a pass for one day to see if this place was a good fit, but $20 is ridiculous. I had full intentions on joining tomorrow, and I will not be signing up at any of your locations because of the way I was treated at your front desk.

After searching online to make a complaint I discovered there was a free one day pass for the location...they could have easily told me about this. The young lady's name is Jasmine and she claims to be the general manager at this location. This is plain old...
