Affordable Used Appliances — Local services in Thornton

I bought a used Refrigerator from a guy named Blake Neumann, and had a great experience. Whatever they're paying this salesman just isn't enough. I had to get two refrigerators. The 1st one I got didn't dispense water, which was the main reason I bought it, but everything else worked fine on it, even the ice maker. I was dreading the return process, thinking they wouldn't accept it because it "worked for the most part" or that they would tack on extra fee's and what not, but that just wasn't the case. Not only did they give me a working fridge, but the delivery and the removal of the 1st fridge I bought were all included. I didn't have top pay a dime AND since they didn't have my exact size/cost fridge in stock I got a slightly more expensive/newer one at no additional cost. I'm nearly at the end of my included 30 day warranty and the new fridge is working great.

It was an inconvenience that the first refrigerator I had didn't dispense water, and needed to be returned, but not worth taking a star off simply because the warranty/return process was so smooth. I've read some nightmare reviews about people buying used appliances from other companies, and I was really dreading the return process, but that just wasn't the case with this company. It was a 5 minute process and Blake assured me that he would make it right.

I'd also like to mention that Blake didn't ever pressure me or my wife into spending more money on a more expensive fridge or try to sell us on anything else we weren't interested in. I went to 3 other used appliance places trying to find a cheap fridge and all 3 places had high pressure salesmen trying to get me to buy a $1000+ fridge after I told them I wasn't willing to spend more than a few hundred dollars.

Another really irritating thing with the 3 other stores I shopped at was seeing refrigerators advertised below $200 and getting there and not seeing anything in the store below $900. It really felt like bait and switch. With Affordable Used Appliances, all of the the cheap refrigerators they advertised online, were actually available in their store, at the same cheap prices.

I want to share that I had such a fabulous experience with a salesman named Ethan Caywood from this store in Thornton. This young man truly went above and beyond to make sure he was able to get me exactly what I was looking for in a used appliance, and we could not be happier with our purchase. In addition, I never even went in the store because Ethan was SO efficient sending me photos, an about his knowledge of the product I wanted. A few of his extraordinary actions to assist me included endless texts of various refrigerators with all the specifications, calling other stores to find the type refrigerator I was looking for, days of communications including videos of the fridge he found me in Greeley, and coordinating with the other salesman in Greeley to make sure the fridge was delivered first to his warehouse, and then to me and my husband in a timely manner. Ethan explained that he was new to sales, and his first priority was to make the customer happy, and he certainly did that, and so much more. I’m really bummed to leave this review because I’ve purchased from Affordable Used Appliances many times and usually have a great experience. Unfortunately, this location seems to have some issues with delivery and customer service.

They require someone to meet them at the property—even if it's vacant—but only give notice the day before with no time window. Then, the day of, they just call when they’re already on the way, so you’re basically on call all day.

We ordered a fridge, and when they finally said they were heading over, I paid my cleaner to meet them. She waited an hour, and they never showed. They later said it was a system issue, but I still had to pay her $45. The second attempt, I went myself and waited another hour with no delivery, which made me miss my only lunch break. On the third attempt they finally came, but took no responsibility and wouldn’t offer any kind of discount for the trouble.

I won’t be buying from this location again, especially when other stores in the chain run...
