We came here by accident. We intended to go to another Mexican restaurant we went to a few months ago, I was going off of memory, and forgot that the place I was looking for was off of 104th instead of 84th. We didn’t have a lot of time but didn’t want to go to a taco truck so we ended up here. What a happy accident!!
I loved the salsa, which is something I’m usually really picky about. The tortilla chips were fresh and surprisingly good. Like… a tortilla chip is simple… but for some reason these were just really good. I enjoyed the house margarita and thought it was above average.
Our food was really flavorful and we enjoyed it. I got barbacoa and carnitas tacos. I love barbacoa but some places are really bad at removing big hunks of fat - no problems with that here! I know I definitely liked one better and I think it was the carnitas. 4 tacos was way too much food for me so I wish they had the option for 3 or 4 (or just a la carte). Hubby had the chimichanga and enjoyed it. I tried his green chile and it was good.
The restaurant was clean, big, and bright! We went on a Friday early evening on 1/31/25 and it wasn’t very busy. We were in and out in less than an hour even though my husband is a slow eater… we had to go to an event or we would’ve stayed longer and had another drink.
Local restaurants come and go so quickly - please be sure to check this place out! We really hope it sticks around and will definitely be back. We were on a “date night” but will bring the kids next time as they have reasonably priced kids meals that include drinks...
Read moreMy family and I are originally from Morelos, so when we heard about this new restaurant, we had to try it! We visited on a Sunday evening with a party of eight. To make things smoother, we called ahead to reserve a table since we were commuting from Longmont.
When we arrived, they seated us promptly, but that’s where the problems started. We waited and waited with no one coming to take our drink orders or even bring chips and salsa. The servers seemed to be working in pairs (possibly for training), but they kept looking our way and whispering without actually helping us.
When someone finally approached us, they brought chips and salsa but still didn’t take our drink orders. We politely asked if we could order drinks, and the server said yes but then walked away to find someone else. More waiting followed. Eventually, the drinks started arriving, but one came out at a time, with long gaps in between. They even forgot one of our drinks.
At this point, we had been there for about 45 minutes, and they still hadn’t taken our food orders. Once we did order, the wait continued. The food came out one plate at a time, with long delays between each dish. The whole experience felt disorganized and chaotic. As a former server, I understand how challenging the job can be, but this was just out of hand.
That said, the food was amazing. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Despite the service issues, we’ll definitely be back and hope for a better...
Read moreTLAHUICAS MEXICAN RESTAURANT proves its reputation with a confident, comforting approach to Mexican classics. I wandered in for chili rellenos and found myself greeted by the warm hum of Spanish guitar and a soccer match playing on the screen—an atmosphere that feels lively without ever tipping into loud.
Sitting at the bar, I ordered a Negra Modelo, and the beer arrived in a frosty glass, perfectly ice-cold and ready to cut through the richness to come. The service was attentive and welcoming—the kind of steady, unpretentious hospitality that elevates a simple bite into a memorable pause in the day.
The star here is the corn. House-made tortillas arrived steaming, their aroma of fresh corn filling the air and the palate. The chili relleno delivered a well-balanced punch—savory, gently charred, and with a soft, yielding interior that any connoisseur of chiles will appreciate. I’m particularly particular about the soft varieties, and this one did not disappoint.
Accompaniments were on point: the beans carried a quiet, comforting finish, and the rice was notably light and airy—neither clumpy nor overwhelmed by spice. In sum, Mucho Grande offered a true, authentic Mexican lunch experience: generous flavor, solid technique, and a sense of place that makes you return for another visit. Highly recommended for a straightforward, satisfying meal with...
