Edit: Moved from two stars down to one star. What can I say, “Fool me one time, Shame on you. Fool me Two times, shame on me.” I entrusted the company to honor their amended shipping date to get my 2000 dollar couch sent to my house, mind you for the third time, and they did not honor it. I called through explaining the situation to their delivery resolution team, had to engage in lengthy discourse to get a discount and the delivery fee waved, and new date to be honored, to which I requested a follow up call in an hour and a half’s time from the original phone to make sure I could get out of prior obligations to be there for delivery. 20 minutes past the agreed scheduled time, I went ahead and followed up and called them on my own accord, to which I was informed that the date I was told an hour prior was no longer possible. This would’ve been the 4th reschedule, all of which were planned dates by the company in advance.
I beg you, if you as a buyer still decide to purchase here, please come with your own trailer in-tow and do not rely on their shipping services. You’ll get more reliable, honest, and communicative service if you decided to buy through a local drug dealer, than you would purchasing through this company. Everything that follows is a review of my initial experiences, which you can read further about if you’re interested.
Good day.
I’m not typically one to leave bad reviews on businesses, as people are human and make mistakes. But my experience with this company has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, and it unfortunately isn’t due to one of their tasty drinks.
Living Spaces is a cool spot if you want to browse their inventory and snag a drink. A poor choice if you actually intend to buy anything. There’s some sort of break down in communication between their headquarters branch in California, and this retail location. They give you what seems to be a guess as far as when the delivery will be made, and then a few days later tell you that they finally realized they didn’t have your choice in stock and have to spend 6 days getting it delivered to their warehouse before getting it to your home. I’m speculating that their inventory system is just some dude running around to their various warehouses, scratching his chin, and saying “yep, gotta order more of those” because every other large scale company has a digital management system that tells you what inventory is in stock from the get-go. They also don’t call you to notify you of the reschedule, until you miss the window of reschedule and rely solely on a poorly formatted email to disclose to you that you have to call their number anyways to confirm the pick up date. Once the Olympic judges give you a 10 for the amount of hoops you have to jump through to confirm the date, expect to clear the entire day for delivery because they won’t give you a “refined” 3 hour window that the purchase will arrive until the day before. Oh, and after you confirm your delivery date for what is hopefully the final time, they make sure to remind you that if you decide to reschedule, that they will charge you a rescheduling fee. After rescheduling on you. twice. For 2000 dollars, I could have gone on Facebook market place and gotten a better quality couch, and hired movers to get it into my house same day, and the seller would be willing to give me a call direct.
This is just my experience with the company, out of many customers who seem satisfied with their experience and product. Mine is probably a one off, and some poorly paid, over-worked college kid forgot to push a send button on my delivery, which is totally understandable and I think we’ve all been there. What isn’t understandable is why the company, who has dedicated employees on a supposed “Delivery Resolution Team” can’t give me a call to let me know that the day I took off to be available for my delivery is going to be replaced with a different date, with absolutely zero compensation. Good luck fellow customer, and may your purchase be delivered on the day they tell...
Read moreWe bought a couch here about a year ago and had a fantastic experiance. (Hense the two stars, not just one) We went in yesterday to look around. We are in the market for a new bed set and dining table. We stopped in yesterday and to look, and decided to go back in today. And WOW what a night and day experiance. We walked in and were asked what we were looking for, told them, and were directed over to the mattress section. We were met by a woman at the doors who said "the girls up front said youre looking for a mattress!" Which is fine, thats her job. But i was slighly annoyed they had radioed ahead since we wanted to get a feel for pricing and do some investigating on our own since we have a pretty tight budget, and were unsure if we could even afford to upgrade. She showed us two mattresses and while we were laying on the second, my husband said "i think my wife likes this one" she scanned the tag and handed me an ipad to "start a cart" which was frustrating because we wanted to look around more, and were not communicated with on price at all. We did not say "this is the one!" Our intention was to start the process of looking at something similar and feeling out our options. i felt pressured and a little embarassed to ask about the cost. She handed me an ipad and i filled out the info to aviod an awkward confrontation. I said I wantred to move on and look at bed sets. She WALKED US into the section, and made us stand there until she could get someone else to come "help" with the next section. Luckily, this gentleman was WAY more friendly and actually had the forethought to ask what our budget was. We told him, then he said "well, youre already over that with your mattress" to which i replied "yeah well she didnt really give us a choice" he was actually fantastic and gave us a few options within budget. Next, onto dining. He also walked us to this section and stuck us with another sales person who was also very sweet. However, at this point my husband and I are both annoyed and just want to be left alone to brouse for a minute. I decided i was done. I purchased an art peice I had picked out the day before and wanted to at least give the girl in dining a sale since she was so pleasent. We made our way to the door. (This is where I made a mistake) i stopped to look at a second painting that caught my eye. While i was looking, my husband overheard an employee say quietly into his radio "that couple is looking at another art peice" i instantly put it back on the wall and we left. I, being in sales myself totally understand that we went into a commision based store on end of month while there is also a sale going on and sympathise with the pressure the staff must be under to make a deal. We walked in hoping to spend a decent amount of money and walked out frusterated with one item, and a little embarrased about the whole thing. I am deeply disapointed in the way we were smothered. When we had a SINGLE second to ourselves we were instantly called out on the radio for someone else to come over. Not sure we...
Read moreI’m okay giving one star for the actual sales guy who helped us in the store. After that; everything has been zero. They delivered without everything they needed to set the bed up. They said they’d either get it to us later that same day or the next. Then, crickets… I had to reach back out and they set up another delivery date that’s a 5 hour window each time, mind you. 5 minutes after our window started for the second delivery, they EMAILED to say the parts hadn’t come and they canceled. Since they didn’t call; we sat here for the whole day waiting. No apologies and Robyn didn’t even respond to my email back to her. Another two weeks pass and they finally call and say they have the parts and are bringing them to finish set up. We schedule the delivery; I wait for them only for two guys who don’t speak any English at all (luckily I speak a little Spanish but there was still a major communication barrier) to show up and start DISassembling the bed. I tell them no and they call the office and I speak to them. They still don’t have the parts and what was scheduled was the wrong thing. At this point; I’ve invested 20 hours over several days into sitting around and waiting for them to show up and just finish the set up. The missing parts are 6 screws. That’s it. Pieces they won’t tell me the size needed or anything helpful so I can just do it myself. But if I do put screws in that I buy myself; it voids their guarantee and warranty 🫠 My husband got on the phone with their “corporate office” who was rude and not helpful. Eventually they offered a credit back for $250 after they’d already said $500 but only if we keep the incomplete bed. So they said $250 and that they have to send out a whole new bed instead of just the missing pieces unless we wanted to forgo the warranty we paid for. First of all, $250 doesn’t even cover the sales tax and certainly not any of the wasted time my husband has taken off of work for this. So we reluctantly say okay and wait for them to reach out to schedule delivery once again. Two more weeks… I got a text saying to use that link to schedule the delivery but I click on it and it says I can’t do that. We’ve also still not received the credit back to our card they promised. This place is a joke. I’ve had better service from places like American Furniture Warehouse and freaking IKEA at a fraction of the cost. Don’t use them. I have a gift card that came with the purchase that I’ll probably just give away because I never want to deal with this business again. I just want the bed I ordered 3 months ago.
**Update: they finally delivered a bed but only after I called repeatedly about the schedule link not working. They still have not refunded the promised $250. I would not use this place. The pricing and overall selection is comparable to places like Furniture Row & American Furniture Warehouse. I’d go with...
