Today, I experienced public humiliation and intimidation over condiments due to an employee's honest mistake. The rude behavior of those fulfilling the order suggested that the staff lacked proper guidance and could not address problems calmly or professionally. Instead, one employee appeared extremely frustrated and shot me a menacing glare. This behavior was unwarranted! To make matters worse, the on-duty manager endorsed this conduct!
I stayed composed despite the rude comments, such as, "If a customer wants extra condiments, they should go to the store."
Regrettably, the young woman who took my order made a mistake, and I suffered the consequences. As a 63-year-old Black woman, I make an effort to be kind, having faced unkindness in my life because of my race. Sadly, today was another difficult day. I believe my race played a significant role in the public humiliation I endured, which is why I am sharing this terrible experience!
As a dedicated Chick-fil-A customer, I earned over 6,000 points. I redeemed them for three salads but received disappointing service in return for my loyalty! Had the manager on duty responded with greater maturity and wisdom, he would have addressed their concerns about the excessive salad dressings more dignifiedly. Instead, he forfeited the situation to a cruel and disrespectful person who didn't care how I interpreted her message that I was greedy! NO CUSTOMER WHO GIVES ANY ESTABLISHMENT THEIR HARD-EARNED MONEY DESERVES TO BE MISTREATED AND DISHONORED.
Upon earning my BA in Human Resources, which focused on Organizational Management, a fundamental principle emphasized was "first seek to understand, then seek to be understood." One question from the staff could have cleared up their concern before they publicly humiliated me!
NOTE: I ordered 2 salad dressings and 2 packs of peppers for each salad. I got three salads, so I should have received 6 salad dressings and 6 bell peppers. However, I ended up with 18 salad dressings and only 3...
Read moreJustin ruined it for you guys! I do catering for a company 10 minutes away where every single weekend we cater for 30+ employees and spend about $150-$200. The catering order at 11 went great, the polite female manager delivered me my food in the drive through no issues. When I returned for the second order a very rude manager Justin over the walkie told the cashier outside they could not do that. When I informed the cashier I had just done that a few hours prior at this exact location she let Justin know again over the walkie, Justin snapped at the poor girl and said “yup we’ll still no we’re not gonna do that” I wait in the drive through for 10 minutes and have to wait an additional 5 to get out and park. When I came inside he realized I was a high dollar customer and began to back track and apologize and put on his customer service voice, not the snappy rude one he had on the walkie. He said I’m sorry we gave you the impression we were able to do that to which I replied. It wasn’t an impression you did it.
I let Justin know that I would no longer be ordering from this Chick-fil-A, I ordered Chick-fil-A constantly for my company and this is the first time I’ve had a bad experience with any location.
I would love to be contacted about this by somebody in corporate I have all four of my order numbers that I would love to give feedback on.
Biggest feedback get everybody on the same page, SOP’s. Don’t change...
Read moreToday the Chick-fil-A in Larkridge went above and beyond anything I ever could’ve imagined. I had placed my order to pick up curbside and I was on my way to the restaurant when a truck sideswiped my vehicle. When I failed to show up to get my order the Chick-fil-A restaurant called and I explain the situation to them and that I was stuck in the parking lot a few streets down from them. The man (Terry) on the phone said not to worry about it and that I could come in at anytime to pick up a new order, and he hope that we are all alright. At this point the police had shown up and my five-year-old son (who had been in the car) was still frightened and hungry. About five minutes later a small silver car pulled up and out jumped a young girl in a Chick-fil-A uniform carrying my order. She told me that she hoped we were all ok and had added a gift card, a couple of cookies and a small note to my order. At this point I was in tears because of the unexpected kindness of a stranger and when I looked at her, she had tears running down her cheeks as well! I think sometimes with all the chaos in the news, we forget that there are still very kind people in the world, the kind that will go out of their way to help a stranger. (My order was only like $10). This was done out of pure kindness and love. I will be eating there even more...
