One-Star Review of Spectrum Store in Thousand Oaks
I rarely write reviews, but my experience at the Spectrum store in Thousand Oaks has been so utterly terrible that I feel compelled to warn others: avoid this place at all costs. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with rudeness, indifference, and a complete lack of professionalism. The staff seemed more interested in rushing me out of the store than helping me with my issues.
The employees are some of the most dismissive and disrespectful people I’ve ever encountered in a customer service setting. They act as if they’re doing you a favor by even acknowledging your presence. When I asked for assistance with my internet service, I was met with condescension and impatient sighs. Instead of providing clear answers, they gave vague, unhelpful responses, clearly eager to get me to leave so they could move on to whatever else they had planned. The store was cluttered and unorganized, making the whole experience even more unpleasant.
The worst part is the complete lack of concern for customer satisfaction. I felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. Their attitude was dismissive and even hostile at times. I left the store feeling frustrated, disrespected, and genuinely insulted. It’s astonishing that a large corporation like Spectrum would allow such poor customer service to persist. If you value your time, dignity, and mental health, do not waste your energy visiting this location. There are plenty of other providers and stores with much better customer service—this one is simply disgusting and should be avoided entirely.
Additional critique of the Staff and Manager
The dishonesty and entitlement displayed by the employees at this Spectrum store are beyond anything I’ve encountered before. The staff members, including the store manager, behave as if the customer is completely beneath them. When I questioned them about billing discrepancies, they responded with outright lies and evasive answers, clearly trying to cover up their mistakes or avoid accountability. Their tone was condescending and smug, as if I owed them something just by asking questions.
The store manager, in particular, exhibited a shocking level of arrogance. Instead of addressing my concerns sincerely, he talked down to me and made me feel like I was an uneducated fool for trying to get clear information. His attitude was entitled and dismissive, and he appeared to believe that he was doing me a favor by even speaking with me. The way they talked to me made me feel like I was an annoyance or a burden, rather than a paying customer. Their entire demeanor reeked of arrogance and dishonesty, which is unacceptable from any business professional.
This experience left me furious and disillusioned. It’s clear that Spectrum prioritizes profits over genuine customer service or honesty. If you value integrity and respectful treatment, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this store. The staff’s entitlement and dishonesty make it one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, and I strongly advise everyone to avoid wasting their time and...
Read moreTWC in Thousand Oaks is a frustrating and tragic monopoly!! They never provide what they advertise, they have the slowest internet speeds, intermittent service, zero customer service, and zero accountability. TWC in Newbury Park at 2323 Teller Rd. is possibly the worst distribution point in the entire TWC system. The manager is obviously a complete moron and is never made to answer for his lack of supervision. He/she hires incompetent people to maintain the cable distribution system at 2323 Teller Road and several times per month the one night-shift employee that this pathetic manager puts on night-shift somehow falls asleep exactly when the system crashes!!!! And of course there's no phone number for the back room so we can call and wake the #$%*er up!!! Every time internet service crashes, there is at least a 3 hour wait for the night employee to wake up, reboot the system, and then of course TWC denies that any problem ever occurred. One night recently (around 10:00 pm) after our internet service went out, I called the Kansas control center for TWC phone support (I live in California!!!) and the operator insisted he had no outage reported in my area. I hung up and called right back, this time I got a different operator and demanded he check for reported outages in my area and sure enough, there it was!!! What a horrible company!!!
TWC has consistently published profit figures of greater than 93%!!!!!!!!! I find that number to be mind boggling, but it has been verified by several online watchdog groups that read all the corporate releases and profit statements. Amazing how so many people in America are willing to let a greedy bunch of losers steal all our money under false pretenses!! Thank god for Citizens United, The Supreme Court and greedy, corrupt, republican politicians who love the huge campaign donations from criminal enterprises like TWC... Welcome to America, now please pass the...
Read moreThe worst of the worst! After waiting for about 45 minutes for service, being told that one person after waiting had to go to lunch. The other individual when finally free told me he had to enter notes. FINALLY Trevor became available. Was I irritated, that would be an understatement. When I asked Trevor who the manager was of the store or area I was blatantly lied to saying there was no manager. Trevor went in the back brought me a new router of which when I came home was DEFECTIVE! I went back to the store and sent in my PRIVATE PAID for technician who has nothing to do with Spectrum and was given and additional THREE defective units which my own tech was smart to check each one in the store, until the 5th one which was in a new box and was what looked like new, finally worked. Trevor attitude will not go without notice. I have since contacted John Higgens Jr. who is the VP of Charter Communications the parent company of Spectrum, as well as Cliff Hagan who is the Customer Operations Vice President. The local manager of the area is Arianna Valdez who I have contacted. If Spectrum wants to be self service company I will have to look elsewhere for service. I have been a loyal customer for close to 44 years, when in my area they were called Group W Cable, which went through several owners until winding up being owned by Charter. A customer with my loyalty and longevity should have some expectations of service. My initial call to tech support took me from have one of several TV's in my home not working. By the time we finished with tech support I had from one TV not working to all my TV's and much more importantly took down my internet as well. Bravo to the totally worst possible service from all parts...
